You actually dont understand . I told him be on safe side. There is no link but i sharing my experience. 
i dont understand by local and national?

now it is computerized like computerized marriage certificate.

and they can ask you anything that you dont have and happily give you 221 g .

You said "They will ask for it"...You didn't say "to be on the safe side".......Obviously, you haven't read what DOS has said...although I quoted the statement.....a person could commit a crime in one LOCAL area, then obtain a clean report in another local area.....therefore police reports in Pakistan are worthless.  ....POLICE CERTIFICATES ARE NOT REQUIRED IN PAKISTAN.  Obviously, it is NOT computerized in Pakistan.

Immigration involves BOTH the US citizen as well as the beneficiary.....

This forum is not the USCIS, this is a general discussion forum and having one of the spouses available should suffice for the discussion, they both can discuss through one account.

 

If you want to have someone's wife answer something then you can just ask the OP to ask their spouse, instead of telling the OP to go bring his wife and have her talk to us directly. To me it seems disrespectful, it implies that the OP is not capable of handling the conversation.

Disrespectful????  Isn't it better if all involved parties (both spouses) have access to VJ? Haven't you wondered why a person says that their spouse ""can't" join us here?

They could have their personal reasons for not joining VJ, computer illiteracy, poor communication skills, language constraint, being a quiet personality, people fear, lack of sense of keeping privacy while chatting etc. How many VJ members have their spouses also join VJ? 

 

Let people join VJ at their own discretion, we can't tell them to go bring their spouses because they are not capable of talking on their spouse's behalf.

The smart ones.......I feel it is always better to have both spouses involved.  I am not saying that one spouse is not equal to the other.  But I do think that both can gain knowledge from VJ.

Since family-based US immigration requires a US sponsor, it makes total sense that person should be involved in becoming educated about the process.  I would never have expected my husband to navigate the system without me participating.  In fact, I was the one who did the hours of research and reading.  

 

It is a complex system, and with so many issues unique to Pakistan, I'm surprised more US spouses of Pakistanis do not try to learn as much as possible to try to affect a positive decision.

Of course it is up to everyone individually, but maybe some of you would reduce your time in the black hole of AP if the American citizen/LPR sponsor was more involved in researching the process.

Lol this whole conversation got side tracked. It is true that if both parties the sponsor and the beneficiary are present here they both can truly learn alot but having said that we as a vj community should also respect a members decision of not want to bring the other significant over here because every one is free to make decision for them selves. We as a community should stick to helping those who needs help and refrain our selves from telling them to bring their other partner.

well most of the Attorneys and Agents here in US have no clue about Pakistan, so they push you to get one but systematically by law you are not required to have one and nobody asks you about it, even not during interview (my personal experience) But for safe side I had one with me. I hope it helps

My agent se police clearance certificate is required

i have the same situation. on the US department of state website it said that the police certificate is unavailable for my country, but the agent that help us taking care of our documents require me to get that. i reside in different country, so there is no way i can go to my country and get one because of this Covid situation, so i emailed the US embassy where i reside, and they told me to check on the US department of state website and it is not necessary to obtain the police certificate from my country because it was written unavailable there.

 

i uploaded the email from the embassy at the time i worked on my NVC stuffs and they accepted it.
