Hi everyone,

Still waiting for biometrics notice! Here's my timeline:

9/30/2020 : AoS package submitted

11/2/2020 : Cash checked

11/9/2020 : Received 3 notices, dated 11/2 but "date received: 10/2"

Nothing since that! When should I expect biometrics notice?

PS 1: We submitted I-130 petition separately — e-filed and received on 3/18 (about 6 months before filing AoS

Does this affect the AoS process because we didn't file everything all together?

PS 2: In parallel, I also have a J1 waiver (NOS) case pending, and the latest update was "request sent for sponsor views" on 11/19 ------- It's okay if some of you are not familiar with what this means...

I still have no update for you all. Waiting on both RFE and Biometrics.

I called USCIS today since its been almost 90days, and they just told me it's because of COVID that I haven't gotten one an appointment yet.

Soooo I'm still waiting.

I had my biometrics appointment today at the Brooklyn ASC. Pretty straightforward! I arrived over 30 minutes earlier than my appointment time, but I was still able to go in. There were barely any people there, so there wasn't really any wait time.

I hadn't included form I-131 with my original package, but because I might need to travel internationally for a research project, I sent out that form today via UPS. I am hoping that they are just able to reuse my biometrics for the AP document.

09/25/20: AOS package (I-130/I-485/I-765/I-944) mailed out via USPS.

09/27/20: Package received by USPS.

10/24/20: Received NOA1 in the mail. PD is 09/28/20.

01/05/21: Biometrics appointment completed (Brooklyn ASC). Case updated to show fingerprints were taken (I-486 & I-765).

01/05/21: I-131 mailed via UPS.

01/17/21: Received IOE receipt number for I-131 via text.

01/25/21: Received a biometrics reuse notice for I-131.

02/02/21: I-485 Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview.

02/04/21: Received I-693 deficiency notice in the mail (dated 01/29/21).

02/09/21: Advance Parole document was produced.

02/16/21: AP in hand.
02/26/21: New Card Is Being Produced (EAD).

03/04/21: EAD in hand.

09/01/21: EAD renewal paperwork received by USCIS. IOE receipt number.

09/07/21: Receipt / 180-day automatic extension received in the mail.

09/09/21: Received a biometrics reuse notice for I-765 renewal.

10/25/21: AP renewal NOA and biometrics reuse received in the mail.

11/04/21: Interview was scheduled for 12/02.

I have no updates. Still have not heard anything about biometric or I944 RFE. My local USCIS office is Jacksonville, FL. I have read in other forums that Jacksonville is moving slowly and are currently doing biometric for May filers. So I am not expecting anything for the next few months.

  2. 12/07/2023 - Application received by USCIS

  4. 12/13/2023 - Check cashed by USCIS
  5. 12/19/2023 - Received in mail the I797 with the receipt number and the online access code
  6. 12/19/2023 - Received in mail the bio-metric re-use notification

Omg they're only at May filers!?
I'm not sure where Raleigh is at with theirs, but with any indication of how yours is going, wow, that's so long.

Does biometrics have to happen to get green card? If not, maybe the green card will come first :P

My latest AP approval estimate says January 8, 2022??? A year from now?! The EAD approval estimate says May 28, 2021, which is what I’d expect AP to be as well. Any thoughts?

I haven’t either!

I have also wondered how accurate the visa journey estimates are. I think given all the pandemic related disruptions, it will highly vary from case to case. Look at how different the biometric exam times has been for us. Some of us are yet to hear anything. Others have already completed their biometric.
