Zee, what happens now? How do I find out the NVC received and sent dates? What # do I call or web?

Wait a couple of days and then call NVC to see if they have your petition: (603) 334-0700, 1 5. They will ask for info on the petitioner and benefiary and your case number. They can tell you when they received the petiton and when it will be sent to the embassy and they will give you your new case number.

Good luck Sophia!!!

Damn!!! Zee!!!! Why do you have to wait till march for your interview!!! That's freakin insane!!!! I can't believe it!!!! Can't you call and see if there are any vacants during all this time????

I have a question about the interview date.

Does the embassy say "You HAVE to come this date." or can D suggest a date. He may be going to Japan for a week in December -- and that would suck if you can't negotiate the interview date with them.

Thanks,

Gail

Once you get a date you can always call to reschedule and see what they can do.

Also, some embassies have open appointments so you might want to check and see what the policy is at your embassy.

She actually said "...or 7 months"??? crazy.

With the recent approvals hovering right around the 5 month mark, my guess is this is another employee who doesn't know her sh*t and is feeding the ####### right back to us.

Like, empr, Soch, and...someone else...were approved if not right around 5 months, 5 months to the day in some cases.

So I imagine that your and our approval should actually happen in late November, if not early December

I wonder how many of us May filers are left?

I will update the summary stats on Monday, but things have not changed much since the last one.

In the meantime, here is an interim partial report: There were 54 VJ VSC K1 petitions filed during May. As of now, 26 of them are still open. For the past 7 days VSC has averaged .43 VJ K1 approvals per day.

Assuming that 10% of the open May petitions are dead, at the current pace it will take approximately 54 days to complete May. (Open petitions from months prior to May are considered to be of primary importance but are assumed to be minimal and are not reflected in interim report calculations.)

Disclaimer: All statistics are compiled from VJ sources and are done so in a straight forward and consistent manner solely in an effort to help members obtain a clear picture of VSC progress or lack thereof. The author is not responsible for any depression, elation, discouragement, encouragement, jubilation, anger, pom pom waving or self flagellation caused by these statistics. Processing them at the speed Bill y says, it would be Nov, Dec, etc...slow as hell at VSC and it will most likely get worse as the backlog climbs with new applicants

APPROVED!!!!! The young lady who place me on hold came back to tell me she would transfer me to an officer. I spoke to the officer who ASKED for my case # and put me on hold again. She came back to verify my address and tell me I should be receiving something in the mail... I was approved on Oct. 15th. I told her I rec'd no email she said they were really busy. That must have been the reason for the touch on Oct. 16!!!

MIRLA YOU MUST CALL AND IT SEEMS THE INSTRUCTIONS I REC'D ABOUT CALLING FOR A REFERRAL WORKED BETTER THEN THE RFE... I GOT AN OFFICER ON THE LINE.

Congratulations Soch!! About dang time.

Well, I called (using REF trick) on Monday 10/15 and she said nothing about being close to an approval. She did not even say my petition was with an officer. And after todays call I was told (by an officer) I was approved on 10/15. So unless the officer today lied... which I dont think so because she was happy for me and told me "I bet your gonna have a good weekend with this news" Then try to get an officer on the phone. I hope when I get home the approval is in the mail. I worry a bit but I cant believe she would lie to me. BEST OF LUCK TO YA!
