I filed for both travel and work authorization with my i485 and still didn't get them, even though I already have my interview schedule for the next week, so it's not guaranteed 765/131 would be faster. After my case updated to “ready to be scheduled for an interview" it didn't take long until the interview was actually scheduled. Good luck!

Thank you!!

From what I understand, when your case says "ready to be scheduled for an interview" it means that your application has been reviewed, they have found everything to be in order and sent it to your local USCIS office for an interview.  Then it depends on your local USCIS office's schedule on when you will have your interview.  Many people are starting to get their interviews scheduled, but we are in NJ and from what I understand, our Newark USCIS office is one of the longest wait times.  So the earliest I imagine an interview for us would be this fall, if we are lucky.  Most likely it could even be another year of waiting until we have the interview 😪 (I love NJ but sometimes it can cause some frustration lol)

So it might be a good idea to check where your local office is and then check out visajourney's immigration timelines and processing times for that specific location.  And also I follow some facebook groups that I keep an eye on when people have interviews in Newark and see what their priority dates/file dates were too.  They are always over a year for Newark.  So who knows, maybe we will be lucky and get an interview next month, but I am not counting on that.  I hope your local office has a better estimated timeline than ours :)

Thank you for all the info!

My field office is Tustin, CA. I'm in a FB group too, but haven't found people from the same field office yet...so no idea how long it will take. But i saw people from other places in California waited for almost a year to get scheduled or still waiting after a year. So i might just send out my combo card application just in case:(

Hey im in CA as well. I waited over 6 months for biometrics. Right now they require biometrics for i765 and i131 (combo card) so you having fingerprints taken for i485 doesn't change much unfortunately. Two of my friends from CA had their interviews scheduled within 2 months ( they both field in 2020). When I applied for AOS I already had i130 approved and that didnt change much but who knows your might get lucky!!

Filed: AOS (pnd) Country: Uganda
Timeline

Went for my second biometrics appointment (first one wasn't well done) in NYC. Arrived at 2pm only to find out that they closed at 1:30pm due to the snowstorm.

Still no sign of EAD/AP getting approved. It is a not a great day 🙃

I'm so sorry to hear this. Who knows, maybe right after your bio they will immediately approve your EAD. Several people from September filers who had their bios this month are getting their EAD cards. Happy for them.

So if i apply for the combo card, I have to do another biometrics? That's so weird...I mean i already did code3, why would they require me to do code 2...

Thanks for the info btw! Your friends were so lucky, 2 months wait is super fast. Cross my fingers...

Thats what I thought as well when I had mine, everyone kept saying that code 3 means everything and apparently thats not the case, the lady that was doing my biometrics said the same thing. It sucks because I have to go again on March 8th for i131 biometrics when I was obviously hoping that Code 3 will be for all 3 ehh..

It was incredibly straight forward! He went through the application with us, was thankful for our photos and just asked some basic questions!

Where did you meet?

Did you start dating immediately?

Did you go on a honeymoon?

Did you do any travels together?

Have you met her family?

What qualities do you like about your spouse?

Who does most of the cooking?

Where did you get married?

Who was at the wedding?
