Hello everyone,

Last month I was sent my packet 4 email and paid the visa fee and was able to schedule an interview for July 22nd which got us very hopeful since we didn't think they'd have appointments open anytime soon because they cancelled all appointment in March but I was able to get July 22nd and unfortunately 5 days ago I got THAT email.

I then emailed the embassy in Cairo to make sure that I don't have to do anything right now and this was their reply ( email #2 ).

I know it's a long shot but does anyone have any predictions or thoughts of when they might resume routine visa services? ( Egypt or elsewhere ) because if it takes too long my Fiancee will come visit as soon as international traveling in Egypt is back since we haven't seen each other in exactly 1 year and I'm sure a lot of people are going through the same thing and it's become unbearable for us we're dying to be together.

Thanks in advance.

It will depend on many factors including local conditions which are impossible to predict

YMMV

Same, but we are applying for CR1 Visa. Our appointment was originally May but canceled 3 weeks before the date. We had just finished the medical too -_-

Unfortunately for all of us there is no news. I’ve tried many times to get answers but their response is always, we are not operational yet. Egypt hasn’t hit it’s COVID peak, the infection numbers are going up and airports are not open. This might be the reasons why the embassy is still closed. Until COVID numbers start to go down In Egypt and continue to go down I don’t think we will be seeing the embassy open any time soon :(

I know what you mean keep your head up you'll get through this, I think they were initially intending to open in July but as you said the numbers keep going up so there's no telling but I'm hopeful that it will be no later than this summer

If you want to mingle with people going through the same, it's best to be in your sub-forum. Go to the blue ribbon above, select "forums" then scroll about 3/4 of the page down and select the region that most represents where your country is located.

Same thing for us.....scheduling interview middle of March, just as the calendar was being cleared of appointments for March, April and May.  We snagged the July 1 appointment.  It got cancelled June 10th, as my fiance was trying to get his medical done.  He lives in Ismailia.  Nothing to do but wait.....but I feel your pain.

Embassies and consulates have been scheduling interviews out ahead, without knowing whether conditions will have changed by then.  Makes sense clerically.
