Hi all,

I am here on a K1 Visa, we recently submitted my AOS package so just playing the waiting game now! I was just curious if anyone here has applied for Global Entry before? I believe I can apply once I get my Green Card, correct?

Many Thanks

Yes, should not be a problem. I have seen people get global entry with a 10 year tourist visa to the US.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. I know the costs involved in this whole game of immigration, and if I can save you some money I will!

Ive had global entry for about 2 years now, best thing ever. I believe the wait time to get it currently is around 6-8months though...

Thank you for your responses.

@Allaboutwaiting @brainless69 should I wait until I have my Greencard until I apply? I did see you can apply as a UK citizen, not sure if the application process would be exactly the same though as it would be applying as a US permanent resident?

Besides the extra online application at gov.uk and the 42 quid fee, the process is exactly the same.

Advantage is, you wouldn't need to wait until you get the green card.

I was also told that when you get your green card after applying on British passport you can just add your green card to the global entry number.

Oh really? If thats the case I might be better off applying now then, rather than waiting until I get my green card. Where did you hear this?

You can add documents after the fact, including a new PR (green card) and new passports. The profile is related to you so it gets update as these things change. I had GE with a conditional GC, permanent GC, and now US passport.

I would note that applications are taking months for conditional approval (I've been waiting 6 months), and interviews are currently suspended.

Thank you for the info, appreciate it!

As a subject of the Queen, go ahead and apply now.  I have a coworker that was conditionally approved in late November and still hasn't interviewed due to all the closures.   I'd guess you would have your combo card or GC before the interview.

My Filipino wife couldn't apply until she got her US ID.

Looks like your K-1 I-94 date has passed. You currently have authorized stay which isn't a visa status like the examples mentioned above (e.g. F-1 student status). Both UK and CBP say:

https://www.gov.uk/global-entry-usa "You’ll still need a visa or ESTA."

https://www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-traveler-programs/global-entry/international-arrangements/registered-traveller/citizens-united-kingdom "All UK Global Entry members must have a valid passport and Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) or a valid visa."

Yes correct, we have submitted our AOS package. Thank you, I understand. So I must wait until I have my green card before applying for Global Entry?
