K1 visa adjustment of status covid 19 delay info

I got here from Australia in November got married in January and had my fingerprints done in Feb. I have been waiting for adjustment of status as well and don't know what is going on. Does anyone have more info?

It's so vague online and atm I can't work or travel until it adjusts, worse I can't get assistance from either country.

My wife is stressed as who knows when I will be able to work and travel

No interviews are happening until the offices reopen,  unless you are fortunate enough to have that requirement waived.

YMMV

Ok. So you are waiting for those and to adjust status. You can work and travel (and return) once either of those happens.

OP, if you fill out your timeline we can at least get some idea of which local field office will interview you.  Even pre-covid, some AOS interviews were taking >1 year to be scheduled, and EAD/AP card ~6 months.

That's all you applied for? Is there a reason you didn't apply for the work- and travel authorizations? Those are generally approved much faster than the adjustment of status, so you can work and travel while you wait.

K-1: 12-22-2015 - 09-07-2016

AP: 12-20-2016 - 04-07-2017

EAD: 01-18-2017 - 05-30-2017

AOS: 12-20-2016 - 07-26-2017

ROC: 04-22-2019 - 04-22-2020
Naturalization: 05-01-2020 - 03-16-2021

U.S. passport: 03-30-2021 - 05-08-2021

Good, you only had the i-485 in the screenshot so I thought that was all you had filed. Like Jorgedig said, you might have to wait around 6 months from filing to get the EAD/AP approved. Some people have been successful in expediting them after getting a job offer.

Surely you knew that the EAD and AP would take 5-7 months? It's a huge drawback of doing a K1.

It will probably take even longer now.

If you can get a job offer, you can try to expedite your EAD.

We filed in Jan and they recieved it on Jan 30 and my wife got her AP and EA combo card 1 week ago. We are in california and our local office is very busy but we at least got the travel and work permissions and just yesterday got the "Interview is ready to be scheduled"  update. WIth the offices being closed and so far two months of no interviews im sure it will take over a year to get an interview.

Even under normal circumstances, it would be very unlikely for you to receive any of those documents so quickly. Even last year before any of this, we had waited a year for our interview for AOS

You'll get your EAD and AP first so should be able to apply for work as soon as you get it. Depending on what you do there's also a lot of jobs that are now offering remote work until the pandemic is over then it's back to the offices. If applying for such jobs just make sure it's not interstate otherwise they'll expect you to move.

Best of luck!
