What reason did you give for calling? Every thing I said I was just directed to "online resources" and it wouldn't let me speak to an actual person

I initially said "green card" and was given an automated spiel. Afterwards, I said "status" and within another minute or two, an agent came on the line. I told her that the website has not be working since yesterday and wanted to check if my biometrics appointment has been scheduled since it's past the 90-day period. She said no appointments as of yet. I then asked if she has any idea when Brooklyn appointments will be scheduled and she answered, based on my filing date, it should be scheduled within 2-3 weeks from now. I did not file for e-request anymore since I already filed it a few days ago.

As per other VJs, it's best to call early in the morning. And to be nice and polite with the reps :)

PS: I'll probably call again next week, though. LOL

I called a week ago because on the USCIS website it says that if you hear nothing from 90 days after your local ASC opening that you should call. I couldn't find when my local (Portland) ASC reopened and the lady on the phone told me to call back on October 20th as the ASC reopened July 20th. I don't have high hopes but its something. I pray that there is news for all of us in the near future.

I also filed in Portland in early July and have yet to hear on biometrics :( have you had any update??

Next time I would ask for tier 2 cause those first level agents know nothing they kept telling me no date yet and I missed 2 dates for my biometrics

Hello!  Did anyone file for their SS Card prior to filing their EAD?  If so, did your SS card come with any restrictive language? If so, have you since received your EAD and had any issues applying for work with your SS Card.  USCIS website states we need to have a SS card with unrestrictive text along with a US issued Driver's license or ID card as I-9 approved documentation.  See text from USCIS website below:

We filed for a SS card shortly after we got married (before submitting our EAD) forms.  The SS card has "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION".  I am wondering if we should've selected to have a SS Card issued with our EAD approval or if we need to apply for a new card with out any restrictions?

U.S. Social Security account number card that is unrestricted

U.S. Social Security account number card that is unrestricted. A card that includes any of the following restrictive wording is not an acceptable List C document:

  • NOT VALID FOR EMPLOYMENT
  • VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH INS AUTHORIZATION

Disregard...I misread the requirements.  We will not need to provide a SS card with unrestrictive text along with a US issued Driver's license or ID card, since we will have our EAD card.

You can only remove that with a green card.
