Dear all,

I applied for naturalization in December 2019 and while all petitions moved somewhat at normal pace (depending on your office) until the , I am wondering if anyone has heard anything?

Mine is still going through background checks and I would assume that USCIS still continues to work, or does it not?

Has anyone heard from USCIS while offices are closed to the public?

I am somewhat lost because I applied for naturalization under 319 (b) before removing conditions. My window for ROC is soon opening up and I am not sure if I would still have to file for ROC while we are stationed overseas on my husband‘s military orders?

my best guess is that work that can be done on computers remotely is moving along. i had a status update on my n400 case while the offices were closed.

NOA 1 was mailed April 3rd (postmarked) and got it in the mail today. It seems like the paperwork side of things is operating, just unsure if there has been additional slowdown due to the virus.

Yes, you'll have to apply for ROC once the window opens unless you get naturalized before that. Here:

"1. Spouses who Reach Petition Filing Period Prior to Naturalization

In most cases, the 90-day period for filing the petition to remove conditions will have passed prior to an applicant becoming eligible to apply for naturalization. However, in some cases involving applicants whose citizen spouse is employed abroad and in cases in which a late filing of the petition to remove conditions is permitted, the 90-day filing period will start after filing for naturalization.

Under these circumstances, the applicant must file the petition to remove conditions and the petition must be adjudicated prior to or concurrently with the naturalization application."

Would the best strategy be to wait a few days before that 90 day window has been fully utilised in hope of perhaps getting the N-400 approved prior to filing for ROC? Which I doubt to be likely...
