Issues moving due to Coronavirus

Hi, I’d like to see if someone could help me with my concerns or if someone shares the same problem.
I have a flight booked for May 23rd to move to the US with my K-1 visa and even if the travel restrictions don’t affect me right now the situation with the coronavirus doesn’t seems that is gonna solve any time soon in Europe (I’m from Spain) my visa expires on July 16th and I’d like to know if there is any way I could have a visa extension if I am not allowed to travel before the expiration of my visa due to Coronavirus or if not what’s the process I’d have to follow. I’ve message the embassy of my country and literally their response was “contact the airline” which makes no sense & I’m staring to freak out.

That's a legitimate concern. But right now, no one will have an answer. You've got time until the July date so you're not in the worst situation possible. Hopefully the travel restrictions will be lifted by then. Some believe you should travel to the UK for 14+ days before you travel to the US. It's not reason to panic but perhaps you should think about traveling to the US sooner than later.

I learned the hard way, I hope YOU don't have to. Advice: learn, learn, learn.

The reason I booked my plane ticket for May is because my fiancé is in the armed forces and currently deployed and won’t be back in the states til around May-June so I wouldn’t like to go and not being able to marry within the 90 days of my entrance.

It's unwise to purchase any travel until such time as the visa is issued. If your tickets are changeable without a penalty then you are fine.

Here is a help line to USCIS for military, may be they can be of assistance during your transition. Also, I am sure that there is an office that your husband can find that helps people like you transfer to his duty station.

USCIS has established a toll-free military help line exclusively for members of the military and their families. USCIS customer service specialists are available to answer calls Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. (CST), excluding federal holidays. After-hours callers receive an email address that they can use to contact USCIS for assistance.

I have the same question as my visa expires on 28th march. But I have not so far got answer .

No one has an answer. For many of us this is the first time most have been faced with a pandemic such as this. Some of others have experience "West Nile" and "SARS" but never the panic that we see now. You just have to do the best you can. Use common sense. And, seek out professionals to guide you. Research and read as much as possible to find that nugget of information you so seek.

If your country is not on the list I would fly here ASAP. Why go through this long process of being separated just to wait to the end of expiry date to travel?

My country is unfortunately on the list. And my fiancé is in the military and deployed currently right now til May-June, so what’s the point of going to the US before he gets there if i am not gonna be able to marry him within the 90 days of my arrival and then be kicked out of the country because I didn’t get marry when I had to?

I think she already has a K-1 visa, and her question is - when she should use it based on the virus, the virus-related bans, her husband being deployed, and the 90-day wedding requirement.

Why this for the profile pic?  Often in movies and on TV when they show Hawaii they show this beach/view. So, instead of doing Kauai or some other locale, we decided to do here, so that whenever some show shows Hawaii and this view, we will see where we were married.

The US govt really needs to think carefully about this, and make some provision.

Everyone is innocent here. Nobody wanted this or willfully caused this.

There has to be a reasonable relief and consideration offered here.

Just saying.
