Vaccines and Medical For K1 Visa

 Share

In packet 3, for k1 visa, it says that "vaccines required" see attached picture, but from what I read, vaccines arent required until AOS.

we do plan on filing a waiver when my fiance comes to the US during AOS.

she will get her medical, at Cho Ray, but as for vaccines, does she need to tell the doctor (at Cho Ray) that she won't be doing vaccines?

or does she need to go to the Quarantine Service and tell them that?

thanks for your help

I would suggest she get the vaccines before leaving her home country, it’s far cheaper and a lot less paperwork..

you mentioned a waiver for vaccines.. you need to remember that not having vaccines not only places the individual at risk, it also places everyone with a weakened immune system that comes into contact with them at risk young and old 🤨 but up to you I guess

Do you have a plan B if she cannot get a waiver?  I would consider all the angles.......

I am confident the waiver will be approved because I will be hiring the best lawyer.

Vaccines are optional.   Tell the panel physician so they can mark your DS-3025 (vaccinations) as not complete.

Ok, what is the cost for a full panel?

In the US, VACCINATIONS ARE FREE due to Obama care.  At most you need to pay a few bucks for a CS to update the medical form.

Yeah, but many people ARE vaccinated but can't PROVE it.   Sure you can get titters done for some, but not all.

TB cannot be vaccinated against.  Only treated if you have active TB.  My ex-wife had latent TB from China, didn't worry about it all.

The BCG vaccine covers you for TB and is 70-80% effective

Your fiancé isn’t eligible for obama care under public charge.. and only a civil surgeon can sign off on her medical so there is a very good chance you’ll have to pay for it at a cost greater than a few bucks.

Get vaccines in Vietnam cost around $50-$60 and it will be recorded in the K1 package at the POE. Yes, vaccines in US will be free, but you have to take a day off from work and travel  to get the vaccines. The math here is pretty simple.

Wow, So what should I tell the State health office that gave my fiance a full panel of vaccines for free?  Will they want them back?

https://www.vaccines.gov/getting/where

So many places

"Federally funded health centers provide a variety of health care services, including vaccination. You can go to a health center even if you don’t have health insurance

State and local health departments are a great resource for finding out where to get vaccinated. They may also have information about state vaccine requirements and free and low-cost vaccines,

I guess its the classic health care bait and switch???

And there is LITTERALLY an active thread on VJ of people posting CS offices that will transcribe for as low as $20-30

Anything else you would like to know about free vaccinations?

You really don’t understand the whole point of self-sufficiency and public charge rules. “Fedrally Funded” or “Free” is not free, it all comes at the cost of tax payers and is the whole point of the new pubic charge rule.

and no thank you.. I’ve always been vaccinated and current

He keep debated that he can get the vaccine for free in different topic, so you really don't need to bother with that. If we do a simple analysis, the cost for vaccine in Vietnam is only $50-$60 and it will eliminated many hassle if the intended beneficiary took the vaccine abroad.
