So, my k1 has been approved as of Feb 26th 2020, the interview went well. The lady said "looks like everything is in order. Congratulations" and with that I left the consulate. And then worries started hitting me.

Was I supposed to stick around after the interview to sign anything? They scanned my finger prints and did the oath and all that. I haven't heard anything since.

The https://ais.usvisa-info site says my current status is "appointment". And the https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/ just says my number is invalid but I've heard a lot of people have that issue.

Do I just wait? She said it'd take about 3 weeks. Anxiety inducing with the unknown.

Have you heard anything? Did your CECA status change?

3 leg 30 hour journey to  or from SE Asia

what backwards budget airline are you flying?

Read the VJ timelines.  Don't buy any tickets until you get the passport in your hand with the visa in it.

SLC to west coast to Asia (Japan, S Korea, China)  to BKK always 3 legs for me... United, Delta mostly, china air, Korean Air, China Southern, China Eastern. 21 hours is shortest travel time from Take off  in SLC to Landing in BKK ever!!   800-1400$  Last trip was 30 hours ..

EvaAir was 2 legs, 24 hours from Chicago to Bangkok for me. Also I’d avoid transiting through China anytime soon. Not only is it a pain in the #######, anyone who transits through China will face travel restrictions/bans in many places.

My visa interview in montreal was on february 26 as well!

I got a follow up email DS 5535 and got put in administrative processing though lol

I hope yours is not the same as my case.

Huh, mine was at 8:30am, wonder if I passed you at all. There were quite a few people waiting to be let in when I left.

DS 5535?

I haven't had any emails or anything yet. No status change.

Congrats!!!

Mine was at 9am, I must have seen you at some point hahaha.  There was a big group outside because the conuslate didn't let people in.

Great that you didn't run into extra screening like I did.  I still don't know why they issued me the DS 5535 though.  I don't even travel very much and I have a very clean record.

I was coming out around 9am, short, chubby, grey hoodie, blonde hair, lol. My fiance went with me because in the email they said it was allowed but he wasn't actually allowed in. Pretty annoying, they won't even let people in 5 minutes before their appointment. What a coincidence though, I was pretty sure I was the only k1 that day as it didn't seem to be a popular visa compared to others. Pretty cool.

I really hope they clear you soon. Wonder if they do "random security checks".  Hopefully you won't have to go back for a 2nd interview. I know some people are qualified to Skype. Keep me updated, and again, I REALLY hope they clear you soon. 🍀 <--  for good luck.
