Image result for british empire

Yup, 53 counties currently recognised as part of the commonwealth that could potentially have automatic UK citizenship rights and revoke of prior citizenship rights.. pending law changes per uk, country of origin and decent rules..

It’s very complex as you’re no doubt aware, hence my saying never assume someone of a commonwealth country can’t enter the US or other commonwealth country under UK entry rules... because 99.9% of the time they have uk citizenship or don’t know they have UK citizenship/ prior country revoktion rights under tourist/immigration law

Hi All,

Currently i am studying in Ireland and want to apply usa visit visa from here to visit my parents there in usa.. currently they are holding green cards.. can anybody please help me how i can make my application strong.. or if anyone wants to give any advice.. i will be very thankful to you..
Or if anybody applied in same scenario and got approved please share your timeline..

Cheers.. 😃😃

Please confirm your entry rights (status) to Ireland (nth/Sth) and UK citizenship rights... as you can see from prior posts there are a whole bunch of non/immigration/immigration factors that apply to commonwealth countries.

Ok let me rephrase that, will you have an offer for a masters (even if conditional on your bachelor grades)? Even better, one that you have put a deposit down on to confirm a place? You obviously won’t be waiting till the bachelors is complete before you even start applying for masters if you want to do it in the academic year immediately following your graduation.

Yeah thats the good idea.. i will talk to my college admission dept regarding enrollment in masters.. i am sure they will give me any sort of conditional letter..

Thanks alot SusieQQQ 😃

Is Ireland not part of the VWP?

pretty sure Sth Ireland is, maybe not so much Nth..

go check, it’s the easiest and cheapest option, but guess it will depend on your status in Ireland.. I know many uk residents from Pakistani origin still qualify for vwp

Yeah Visa Waiver Program as a tourist is only for irish citizens and i have second option is this category which is J-1 Exchange Visitor Program  in that i can apply after completing my bachelors and must have internship offer from usa..  thats why i put this option as a second preference..

Thanks Duke & Marie 😃

The duration of internship is about 8 to 12 months and you must come back to your country from where you applied after completion of your internship.. so obviously if they refuse me then i have this second option...

Thanks Jorgedig 🙂

Not realistic. The British are moving in the direction of closing their borders, not opening up to create more British citizens.

Just another random guy from the internet with an opinion, although usually backed by data!

So on your theory explain to me, how I got UK and Irish citizenship and passports if I was born Australian and never voluntarily applied for uk citizenship?

I think you’re clearly missing the very obvious fact that the vast majority of citizens in Australia have traceable British etc ancestry (Botany Bay prisoners from England etc), and the vast majority of citizens in most other commonwealth countries, don’t. You know, what they call indigenous or in old colonial terms, “native”.No ancestry, no claim.
