The Paris Climate Accord fraud

This is a great assessment, and puts into perspective the fact that climate science on the political discourse is nothing more than a cudgel. The left have been more than willing to take any institution or viewpoint that has the respect of people and tear it apart in a transparent effort to get their way. The fact that people do basically nothing to "combat global warming" yet get praised because they pointlessly signed onto some accord, demonstrates its a social movement, and nothing more. It's a microcosm of the era we're in of virtue signaling. You don't need to do anything virtuous, just demonstrate you agree with the left (signaling your virtue), and don't be an impediment to giving them their way.

As a result of this political hijacking and weaponizing of the sciences, the consistent lack of results of models and doomsday prophets, should there be any actual "climate emergency" the climate sciences demonstrate, the inevitable result is no one believes it until we see it come to fruition. A classic "boy who cried wolf" scenario. It makes little sense to cave to people trying to abuse the trust people had in science just because they want their way. Give them nothing.

Currently 8F and the wind is howling, send me some.

Anyway on the subject I always thought it was amusing that it was called the Paris Accord, one of the Brexit related issues is that the French are very well know for agreeing to all sorts of things if they feel it makes them look good with no intention of following through on implementation, seems a cultural issue.

Now it is called virtue signalling, the problem arises when others participate and think they should do something.

It was 80F here on Saturday when I had to go to Downtown LA for this thing with my SIL (who is still here until this weekend). Crazy. Much more normal today, about 60F, a little hazy.

We just hit 75 in Denver 3 days ago. That is pretty dang warm for Feb in Colorado. Did not last though.

Well -15F last night, weather forecast has a winter storm warning, starting tomorrow.

It is the wind... The cold I can deal with.

BC and other Canadian provinces are trying to pass stricter laws/implement ridiculous policies (in tandem with the federal government) and screw Alberta's resource sextraction industry.

How do you feel about snow? Cause it looks like you got a couple of feet coming this weekend.

We have had a bit this week, wind blew out my driveway today, but blew in my path so digging to do in the morning, as long as the wind is ok I can keep it clear with my ATV, otherwise I have friend with a Backhoe.

If it just lay nice and bright and even all would be fine, it is the wind.... Looks like we are just about to hit minus again, at least it will be warmer tomorrow.

following through on implementation

First step needs to be preventing cows from farting.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

You need to recite three Greta's.
