Hello,

Can anyone tell me if the below outfit is acceptable for the passport-style photo? One of the requirements is that a military uniform is not worn.  This is not a military uniform, but it has a similar style which could be mistaken for one.  My fiance is in Colombia, and I don't think their military uniforms look like this, but I just want to confirm if it could be a problem.

Thank you

to be safe and avoid any issues, he/she can just wear something different. I can see why it could be mistaken as such. It isnt one but just avoid any confusion and retake one :) . GL

As there are no indications that it is a uniform of any kind (indications of Rank, Medals, Etc), it should be fine, however when in doubt, it is always better to err on the side of caution.  If it concerns you, have the photos retaken.

if i may ask a photo question on your thread.

This is also in regards to a I 129F visa.

I took a photo file to the drugstore and,  the tech ran it through his passport program, it passed the 8-10 tests the software did on the picture. The head is just over 1" tall  and her hair is tucked behind her ears but her ears don't show.

Is hair behind ears required?

Is a light or white colored shirt ok?

I have read we should print our names and photo taken date on the back of the photo and put each photo in a plastic bag with an additional name tag.

I understand no signatures on the photo are required.
