Honestly when the passport has been returned and it goes in to A/P unfortunately that means  a denial is more thank likely. However you never know, anything is possible. CR1 is usually the next option once K1 is denied but wait until you get an official outcome before making any additional moves.

Thanks Jorgedis. I only suspected that reason you quoted because of the manner the Caucasian man whom I think was the Supervisor stopped the CO asking that question . Although I know that the CO has every right to ask any question and also I'm aware the CO can't give visa without the instruction of the Supervisor acting behind the scene. Always somewhere behind the white transoarent glass. Yes my American fiancée is 26 years older than me a Nigerian but honestly you can't believe her age when you see her she looks 54, smart , full of positive energy , intelligent and very beautiful. And we are genuinely in love with each other. My family members and my siblings love her so much and are in support of our relationship because she is so caring, loving, jovial , accommodating and a striking look because of her pretty looks. I appreciate your contributions and we will wait and continue to pray. Thanks.

How much time have you spent with your Fiance'?   Has she been to Nigeria more then once?

I met her March 2018 and she visited once Jan 2019 and we filed in May 2019 got approved Sept 5 2019 and had my interview 27th Jan. She could have visited the second time but decided not to in anticipation of a favourable interview outcome until the AP experience. Thanks for your contribution.

I also learnt it doesn't take the consulate anything to check a box that you return your passport and fix a visa within 2-3 working days at the end of AP and duly satisfied. I'm convinced there is nothing God can not do. I'm positive and hoping strongly in God. Genuinely both of us are deeply in love and trust in God.

It would be reasonable to expect the petition to be returned to the US whee it will be left to die.

What is your Plan B? Will she move to you?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Unfortunately you need(ed) to spend more time together and hopefully you observed some of the traditions I mentioned previously.    Only 2 visits and her being much older plus being in a country considered harder does not help.

My spouse knew many details of my children even tho she was pretty nervous.

If you end up going for the spousal visa make sure she spends as much time with you.

IDK I guess met is met online.

OP one visit is all it takes for USCIS to approve a petition.    You need more visits for the consulate for better results of getting a VISA especially in most African countries.

The interview went cool with the CO on 27th Jan until he asked about the ages of my fiancees children and I was trying to answer when a man right behind the counter most likely the Supervisor cautioned him not to ask such question. I saw the question was unevessary too as it seems age discrimination against my fiancees who is 26 yrs older than me. He had earlier collected the original of my divorce papers. The CO informed me my case has to undergo necessary administrative processing and handed back my passporr and a white paper. That if I didn't hear from them within 90 days. I should send them an email. This left me devastated because we did everything right in our file and we are genuinely in love with each other. My fiancees is really shattered right now. Pls what does this process entail ? Can we still get approved ? We need urgent help pls !

I'm sorry I know it must have been devastating for both of you!

What does the white paper say?

I would begin preparing for the CR1 and wait to see if your K-1 app gets approved or sent back.  You could pass AP and there won't be any issue at all, but instead of waiting for the results of the K-1, now would be a good time to start researching and preparing documents, saving money and plan visits to get married should a CR1 be needed.  Your wait might be longer than you anticipated, but the best thing to do is be ready for plan b, and maybe a plan c should immigration not work out as anticipated.

All commentators

I thank you all even if some comments ain't too clear. She visited me once within one and a half year of our relationship . She could have visited again but waiting in anticipation of getting through my interview. NOA1 and NOA2 went smoothly until the interview and we were sent into AP. Although we used joint sponsor and submitted new finacial documents and other details of hers and the joint sponsor . Could it be the reason for the AP to enable the embassy go through the available data bases to check out the newly submitted details ? As per number of visits , its once a physical meeting that's needed anyother visit is just to show commitment to the relationship I guess. We were duly approved by the USCIS and got through to the interview with a water tight file and pics and new AOS documents. Could this be the reason for an AP review of the file due new facts and info? Less I forget my fiancée wasn't working as at the time we filed but got a new job now with a letter from her employer showing she made $27000 olus her social security $6000 and we got a joint sponsor with $44000 per annum because of my 3 kids making us a family of 5 although my three kids are to follow to join later leaving just the 2 of us for now till before one year of visa which the 3 kids must be brought to the US. Could all these new info be responsible for the AP ? Thank you all.

No one really knows what is happening when your file is in AP, we can only speculate, but more often than not it is just background checks and waiting for an officer to review your file.  For now, all you can do is wait for requests for more information to be sent to you in the future, or for them to ask to bring the passport in to get it stamped.  Unfortunately, there is no timeline, so yes, wait and pray are the only options.  The officer did say to contact them if you hear nothing after 90 days, so just keep patient, and when the time comes politely send an email to check your status and if they would like any additional information.

To be clear nobody can be certain what will happen, there is a certain expectation bearing in mind the circumstances you describe as to what will happen.
