Consulate Review: Nigeria
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : August 5, 2021
Embassy Review : Horrible...CO denied us in Feb 2020 due to bona fide but in his reasoning he also alluded to fake this and that in reference to our pics, etc..I got an attorney to rebutt every point and we were reaffirmed a year later (2021). 2nd interview granted July 12th and my husband was approved. The whole reaffirmation process 1.5 year! Sidenote: My attorney said our CR1 petition overall was one of the strongest he seen and knew we just got a bad CO!
Rating : Very Poor

Hi guys, please do you know if filing taxes as single will affect approvals?
Ifemi4835 on 2019-07-28 said:
You can file single but for.immigration purposes its best to file married filing single...

Hi guys we filed i130, in January and it's going to a year now we haven't heard back from uscis now my question is do you think is too late for us to file i129(k3) to fasten it up
blank avatar We Are Waiting on 2020-01-28 said:
The I-129f(K3) has slowed down tremendously. There are people who have been waiting over 4 months to hear anything about their I-129f. I knew as soon as USCIS caught on to why people were filing it they would slow it down🤷🏽‍♀️

Hey, we have same date of interview. How far? I believe, we will get the visa issued before the ban goes into effect
Ifemi4835 on 2020-02-02 said:
Yes we should! But hopefully the ban will be blocked..the Democrats are now on it
blank avatar Odiegwu on 2020-02-07 said:
Yes, hopefully. What's your interview time? This Lagos hold up stuff... Do you plan for a hotel nearby embassy?
IsItLekker on 2020-02-18 said:
I'm so sorry to hear about your interview. Did they give you a reason?
Ifemi4835 on 2020-02-18 said:
Lack of bona fide evidence
blank avatar Odiegwu on 2020-04-03 said:
Sorry to hear that. What will you do now? To refile?
Ifemi4835 on 2020-04-03 said:
USCIS will reach out to us to appeal..our petition is still active so no refiling necessary

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
