Nolah used to serve weeknights at Red Lobster — a third job she took in addition to tutoring to supplement her teaching salary. Now, thanks to the "sugar daddy" dating website SeekingArrangement.com, she's the one getting served. "I can go on a date, I can have steak and lobster, be gone for three hours after my kids are already asleep and come home with $500," she tells Yahoo Lifestyle.

Wonder if this also applies to male teachers?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Ok, I read this article, sounds a bit suspicious.  Last time I heard of someone getting paid for a onetime date, it was considered something else.

Seemed odd, no I might accept a one off situation like that but the way it was described as being the norm.

Yes, this seems a bit off.  Don’t escorts also call the money they get “gifts”?

Nolah, on the other hand, makes her money from one-off dates where she typically accepts a certain rate. “I have my own personal minimum that I will take for my time, and that’s just me personally because that’s not worth it for me to get my hair all pretty and put clothes on and leave my house for a hundred bucks. I’m not doing that,” she says. “So I’ve been gifted anywhere from $300 to $10,000. So it just depends on what our arrangement is and what we’re doing.”

That suggests something else....

When I was single and dated a single mother I would always offer to pay to the babysitter.  And then if I got some sugar it was just a kiss.

Flash forward a few years and when I'd visit our downtown office on a friday I would take the staff downstairs to the lobby bar.  Right next to ASU downtown.  I was amazed how many college ladies would come up to talk to the older guys in suits.

First we need to deal with the lack of Equality.

So this is between consenting adults. Besides the fact that teachers should not have to resort to side gigs, what's wrong with it? I've never done anything similar, but my sister used to exclusively "date" (I use that term loosely) wealthy men she was younger. I used to think it was disgusting,  but I'm more laid back about it now. She didn't use a website, she just used to hang around a Starbucks near the Warner Bros lot, making it look like she was working on a screenplay. But she made some good industry connections that helped get her an actual job.

I think if a guy's dumb enough to pay $10k for a "relationship," that's down to him. I guess I'm close to ageing out of Sugar Baby status now so I won't be looking into it, not even to pay for my Netflix subscription.

Uh, yes, I am working. I am taking my lunch break. Am I accountable to you now for my internet usage during my break time? :innocent:  I'm back on at work in about 10 minutes, please make sure I'm not posting then.

(PS: I often post from my phone when I'm supposed to be standing around and looking pretty. Let me know if I'm in trouble for that too. :) )

Ahh, I was not aware of your job description.
