goursh,

it seems you mixed up 2 things.

1)  section 54, where you have to describe how you met & circumstances of your meeting(s). It may be extended to Part 8 Additional Information. Actually, it's what we did. We wrote something like "Please, see Supplement XX" in section 54 and detailed all the information on a separate sheet (but it should not be long, one page is more than enough)

2) Letter of intent to marry, which you and your Beneficiary must provide. These are pretty simple letters. Examples you may find on this site: https://www.visajourney.com/content/examples/  These letters should be dated and signed.

Good luck in your K1 journey!

Overkill but success stories nonetheless! 😛

They would have had success just the same without the overkill.

The I-129F process is pretty straight forward.  Some file without a single picture and get approved without issue.

Good point. I guess it's easy to stress out when it's the first step and a new process.

Me, I seem to be worrying more about the scattered details of my life versus the story of our relationship, like if they care that I had a working-holiday visa and spent 6 months in Australia but never established a residence--does one list that or not? The story of my life is a lot more complicated on paper than the one of our relationship, hehe

Are you talking about the USCIS NOA2 stage approval or consulate interview/K1 visa approval?

Okay. But the USCIS approval isn't really the major hurdle. That would be the Consulate. USCIS maybe doesn't care if you submit photos or not, but the Consulate is going to want to see those photos, so if you don't submit them to USCIS, they'll never get forwarded to the Consulate. So it seems a little strange to me to be recommending that people not include photos just because the USCIS as the adjudicator of the first stage in the process doesn't care about them. It's about the long term process, the end goal, right?

I never recommended not having photos in the I-129F petition package, I stated   (read slower)

Maybe,  but evidence that the relationship is still ongoing as of the interview is of primary concern.   A lot can happen in between filing of the petition and the interview

YMMV

Now it's sounding to me like it wouldn't hurt to be "overkill" if indeed the Consulate receives the packet before the actual interview...

For the interview the embassy wants evidence of an ongoing, genuine relationship; chat logs, emails, etc.  and yes .. a few pictures together .      But no reason for "overkill" during the petition process.

Makes sense when you put it that way. As a newbie, it's kind of all in the dark here in the beginning :)
