Interview done but...no decision made

Ok so my fiancé had the K1 visa interview! I traveled from US to Colombia to be present during the interview! The embassy officer asked like 4 questions, she was very friendly, she handed my fiancé the domestic violence pamphlet and told him that she needed to verify that what he answered during the interview was true, she kept his passport, then I asked her to explain why she didn’t make a decision right then and there, she said because she needed to check the system and verify that what he answered was true, that if she verifies everything he will get his visa in like a week! I am nervous here, I don’t know what to think!!! Is this a denial or an approval???

This is pretty much routine at Bogota embassy from as far as back as 5 years ago, and longer. Nothing to worry about. They kept his passport so you're good.

I really hope so! Where do I check when they issue the visa? When its approved? How long should i wait to check?

She asked how we met, how long we have been dating, where i lived and worked! About my kids! She was very friendly

could be ready for intrerview 

and may change to AP

or could be ready to process the visa

when all it done will say "issued"

I'm sure hell be approved. Sounds all good to me. Basic easy 4 questions shows they werent suspicious of your relationship not being legit. Congrats 😉 I hope our interview goes as smooth.

They never approve anyone at the actual interview. They might say "approved", but your visa is only approved once the status changes to issued, not a minute before that. Everyone has to wait for that status to appear after the interview. Some wait for hours, some for days or months.

Ok so i checked CEACS and it went from ready to application received.. what is that supposed to mean?

Totally normal. Next status will be Visa issued. I know the waiting game is nerve wracking but you're pretty close to the finish line. Unfortunately there's no way to predict if it will be 2 days or 2 weeks, but hopefully not longer than that. If it does go to 2 weeks I would suggest calling the embassy directly. My wife called the Bogota embassy a couple of times during the process and they were very good about answering phone calls and questions. We had the unfortunate disadvantage of the world wide visa printing system going down which caused delays as long as 6 weeks.
