Everyone told me including my lawyer and online it would take 4 to 6 months but it actually took around 11 months almost a year to hear something from them .

Did you get an EAD & AP before they approved your waiver? Sorry for asking too much. My lawyer sent my waiver April 2019. I didn’t get any update after my biometrics. Thanks!

Was your waiver an I-601 or I-601A? There's a difference:

Also, the AP you're asking about is "Advance Parole." The AP @Adam A recently mentioned is "Administrative Processing."

An I-601 is used for an immigrant and requires a QR. This applies both inside the US for AOS, or outside the US for an immigrant visa.

A tourist visa is a non-immigrant visa. The CO can recommend an individual for a waiver or not at their discretion.

Not sure if fraud...perhaps material misrepresentation for OP.

The officer's sympathy has no bearing on who qualifies for a waiver (it may or may not alter their decision on if certain inadmissibility applies, though).

The question is if they required a waiver or not, and what needed to be waived.
