For those of you who have sponsored patents to come to the US were your parents able to find jobs here? If so what type of places would be good to look for work ? My mother is 60 and father 70. They are hoping to find some part time work to keep them busy

Any basic customer service probably. There are dozens of job sites but a lot want resumes and are more career oriented. I'd stick to hospitality perhaps? Obviously at an older age they aren't wanting to get into physical labor jobs so.

12/06/2017 - I-485 Approved

12/14/2017 - Green Card Received in mail - No Interview

Walmart seconded, my local Supermarket seems to have an older age workforce and such jobs tend to a high turnover therefore opportunities.

What is their work experience? What type of work do they want to do? That seems like the logical options first.

If they don't have relevant/usable experience, or interest in pursuing those, and just want to fill the time or earn something, entry level customer service jobs would be the obvious culprit. Walmarts are often looking for greeters.

My mother is a kindergarten teacher in India and now is the vice principal of a small school. My father is 70 now but is a retired senior accountant. They would love to get something is their own line or something that isn’t purely manual work but are open to whatever opportunities come by.

You mother could volunteer at a local school? They always need help. Maybe a non profit that needs an Accountant? He may be ale to to do bookkeeping as he will not be familiar with US practices.

Thank you- I know of some volunteer opportunities and I’ll set them up with those. They were hoping they could find some paid work even if it paid just minimum wage or maybe a little more
