Hello, all.

I’m scheduled for my medical, interview and CFO next week, and I’m hoping you could answer my questions.

1. Can I submit just the photocopy of the Cenomar at CFO? It turns out I only had one original, and I’m saving it for the interview.

2. For the interview, it says ‘submit PSA birth cert of children, even if they do not apply for a visa’. Can these birth certificates be just photocopies?

3. I have my fiancee’s 1040, W-2, cert of employment and bank statements. My fiancee also sent me i-129f and all the evidences she submitted, are they part of the i-129f? and can I submit some of them (evidences) for CFO and the interview, or do I need to procure new ones?

Tia! :)

Where does it state to submit birth certificates of children for your visa interview (even if they are not apply for a visa)?  I know you are to list all children on the I-129F, even if not apply for a visa.   I know of nothing stating to submit birth certificates of the children at YOUR interview.

If you have K-2 and they are applying for visas, then you provide everything as listed in the embassy checklist

For Financial Support; bank statements are not needed,  certificate of employment or letters are only needed if you are a NEW employee, if been employed over 1 year that isn't needed either.

Only part of the I-129F that is of value for the interview is the Petitioner BIO page (read this) - this you should know all that info.

For the visa interview you must provide originals of all PSA & NBI documents.  Copies of other documents as listed in the checklist are OK, unless specifically stated that originals are needed.

Embassy requirements (step 5 is the document checklist), submit everything as listed:

As for CFO, with the CENOMAR they want to see the original but are good with keeping a copy.

CFO does ask for a copy of the Petitioner BC, and divorce decrees if having been married before.

I think it depends which office you go to whether or not they keep your docs at CFO. We went to Cebu and they did not keep anything...

Not a newbie but lost my old info years ago) I have been through this process before --all the way through naturalization-- This site has always been a great help to me.

There’s a US embassy in Cebu?

There is a CFO office in Cebu. Also in Davao, Clark and Manila. There is a US consulate outreach office in Cebu...or whatever they are calling that office now but they only perform limited functions. Nothing to do with visa interviews or issuance.

I see, but you still have to go to Manila for the medical? Or do they have someplace in Cebu? It would be great if my fiancé could do everything in Cebu

The CFO interview is a Philippines government requirement. It is completely separate from the K1 visa process that is done by the US Embassy in Manila.  The interview for the visa and the medical must be done in Manila.

Visit Hank's Guides to the process. It has helped hundreds if not thousands sail through the process:

Visa process is at the embassy in Manila.

Only thing your Fiancee can complete in Cebu is CFO-GCP seminar

Can you get the sticker at Cebu Airport now?

I heard the built a new airport in Cebu and it was pretty nice

I'm not aware of a CFO desk/office at the new terminal at mactan airport,  I'm thinking you would still need to visit the cebu city office

YMMV
