If I was a rodent who was going to be fed tons of that bread, maybe I would be concerned.......

Bromides interfere with normal thyroid function by displacing iodine. Many countries have banned bromine additives, since they have been linked to certain cancers in animal studies. I always thought it's weird that more research hasn't been done, since thyroid issues seem to be on the rise, as do cancer's that are linked to iodine deficiency. However the FDA says potassium bromate is OK for Americans' health, so it is what it is.

Fortunately I don't eat bread, so I don't spend a lot of time following it, but I definitely wouldn't suggest it's something that is only relevant to rodents. Americans in general do eat a lot of bread.

I'm assuming you are saying you're not that worried about it personally, and your comment about rodents, by extension, that humans shouldn't be too concerned. If so, that's your prerogative. I do think the overall number of questionable food additives should be something of a general concern, given the health issues that American society is facing, and appears to be facing going forward. Just my opinion though. Personally I avoid most of the garbage foods, and although it's a long list to wade through, it can be done.

And this is why I don't eat bread in America. And always look like a crazy person as I read every single nutritional label. It is unbelievable how much carcinogenic ####### they're allowed to put into foods.

Actually, eating bread anywhere is not a great thing, people eat entirely too many carbohydrates.
