Still waiting....

Think about this if you will.

The PSA in the Philippines is notorious for misspellings and missing information on birth certificates. You should look over your BC to make sure everything is correct as well as your passport. Now is the time to get that corrected. You might want to get a copy of your NBI to see if there are any problems with it. Again, now is a better time to get it corrected if you find something wrong. Be sure to use all your AKA's when they do the search. Make sure your passport doesn't expire any time before a year from now as this is a long process and you could be running around getting a new one at the last minute. So get it renewed if it is expiring in 2019.

Also, there is a sub-forum for the Philippines here on VJ that you should be a part of. It's a good place to read what others are experiencing which will only prepare you for your interview.

I know you guys and gals still waiting are disheartened and frustrated and there is very little that can be said by me to help but I'm hoping and hoping and hoping you all hear some great news very very soon and move on to the next step...

Thank you for this helpful reminder! I’ve been preparing my documents before we even filed so we’re just waiting... My name is very unique so I don’t really have an issue with my NBI, I got one in June just to be sure. It says “no record on file”. What exactly is considered a problem when it comes to NBI clearance? I don’t have any criminal records. I’m gonna request for one again when we get our NOA2 though so it will be more recent.

Just want to clarify though, do I really need police clearance from here (Philippines) if I lived in the US for a year and if I already have the NBI clearance? I read somewhere that the PC is only needed for people who lived overseas.

I definitely agree. I always think “we’re one day closer to getting approved” but seeing people who filed in August getting updates is just frustrating 🤣 I’m happy for them though, I just want to be happy for me. I know every case is different; but oh well. Anyway, I stopped checking 🤣

But we’ll get approved soon! Hopefully it will be smooth and quick when we get that NOA2

Best of luck to us all. God bless ❤️

The problem most have is that they can have a criminal record or have outstanding court cases or have not paid loans etc. There are more reasons but to many to list here.

NBI can't be older then 6 months at the time of the interview.

You only need a PCC (different then NBI) if you have lived in another country since the age of 16 for more than 6 months or you have an arrest record in another country.
