Notify USCIS Upon Leaving USA with Green Card?

My Wife has left the country a few days ago and will be gone for a month.  She has a green card and was thinking she should of notified the USCIS that she was leaving?  Is this required or is she fine?  The green card and her foreign passport is all that is needed to get back into the USA right?  Thanks.

She does not need to notify USCIS that she is traveling.  She has a valid green card.  She has a valid passport.  She is good to go.

Nope. She can come and go as she please really. My husband just went on his own for 2 weeks back home and came back no issues.

Leaving for a month is not a big issue theoretically. She should be fine and no need for notification

There’s no one at USCIS whose task it is to be to notified when LPRs  leave the  country !

I’m not sure if they are specifically notified .. maybe they are ... but they certainly have access to the DHS/CBP records

USA has no exit controls.  Don't see how any alerts would be automatically obtained upon exiting..

 

Besides, as we know it's never an issue with a foreigner leaving the US....any issue (if one existed) would arise only with getting back in.

DHS....I can see.  USCIS getting "automatic" notification when a LPR exits, though, as mentioned earlier by another member?  I don't see it as likely they have the time or resources to keep track of the vacationing habits of every LPR.

Yes I’m aware of that . But not every section  of DHS gets all the information from  all the other sections of DHS

I think you might be misunderstanding the second half of the thread, and how the discussion of exit came up.

 

Are you stating that USCIS is automatically notified from.....somewhere....each time a LPR over the entire United States crosses the border to vacation in their home country/elsewhere?  That they maintain some sort of huge database that gets automatically updated each time a GC holder leaves?  Like (for example) some sort of signal that beeps on some USCIS computer in some random field office everytime a LPR from that jurisdiction physically crosses the border that very second? That USCIS controls this---themselves?

 

The idea 'of "automatic notification to USCIS" was brought up earlier---that's where the discussion about exit controls came about.

What I said is that the data is there.  How they use it is another.

 

People have reported the there AOS has stopped processing because there name showed on a manifest for the back half of a RT ticket they didn't cancel
