Hello fellow N400 filers,

We just submitted our N400 forms online for N. We have a pending I-751 too. Hoping this step will save some waiting time.

Good luck everyone!

Yep us too for the pending I-751. Almost a year now. I'm hoping they are on the ball and transfer our I-751 in time so we can have a combo interview.

Hello,

Submitted N-400 online yesterday (May 21st). My online profile now says "Estimated Case Completion Time" - 9 months/Feb. 2020. But I cannot find out what office/processing center will be handling my case.

You can identify your local field office at this link:

Ohhhh... thanks!  Looks like I'm with Louisville, KY.

Well you're in luck as that is one of the faster offices.

For the most part, the completion time is over exaggerated. Sometimes by a lot. My local office is one of the fast ones and some people going through my local office have their oath and citizenship just 2-3 months after they applied. But the estimated time for my office says 7 months. I find it more helpful to look at the recent timelines for my local office to see what to expect and then take an average since there are several factors that could speed up or slow down a case.

Just got back from our biometric appointment, good new, the lady at the front desk said my case should be completed by August. they're processing it pretty fast at our local office. Not so good new or worrisome is i also have I-751 pending and the case currently is at Nebraska service center, got transferred there about 2 weeks ago.

Hi all!

Glad to have found this group! I have a query:

i would like to know if I need to initiate reschedule of biometrics to be able to do a walk in? Or just attempt a walk in to see if they would accept me? Has anyone been rejected despite having the appointment letter? Also can I print the letter posted online and use it, if I don’t receive the one via postal by this Thursday (planning to walk in then).

if it’s okay to go for an early walk in, any advise on the time of day? Also do they need proof of reason to the early walk in?

My current timeline, as attached. When will I know the CIS LOCATION?

*Receipt notice received on 05/17/2019 via postal mail

**Bio appt posted online on 05/18/2019, document loaded in 05/20/2019 evening-yet to receive actual postal letter.

Hello everyone!

To begin with thank you guys for all the advice and guides on my process.

So so I did a walk in today at the Bronx, NY ASC, they took me in, asked reason for coming in early, gave them the reason and they processed me within 15 mins. Went smoothly, gave me a civics test book and was done!

Now it’s a wait game for the next step. Based on the website my office would be the NY office. Current timeline on my online case has reduced form 13 months to 12 months. Meanwhile processing time on USCIS mentions 13-22.5months!

All the best!

Good to see some more NYC field office folks here. I am perplexed as to why there aren't more given how many applications get processed in NYC.

So your estimated case completion (up the top of your USCIS account profile) now says May 2020?

What does it say at the bottom of the page - that should be updated after biometrics to indicated how long you have to wait for the interview, the next step.

We did the walkin for the biometrics today. I was worried for a minute that they wouldn't let us because she questioned what we were doing there so early. In the end, she had already stamped our paper before reading the date so that may have been in our favor. We didn't get the appointment letter in the mail yet so I printed it out and they had no trouble accepting it. Our estimated completion time decreased from 7 months to 5 months (Oct 2019). I'm hoping there will be movement on our I751. So far all it has said is received.

Hi! So where in NYC are you based at?

Well Yes my USCIS account profile still does say that.

No updates on my USCIS account profile yet. They told me to wait for mail, and of course I forgot to ask them about online applications.

The Manhattan (NYC) field office. I am assuming you are dealing with that one as well?

I’m going to say yes based on the postal codes (rockland)  processed at that office.
