K-1 visa face to face

Is meeting face to face one time sufficient enough to begin the K-1 visa process? We plan to meet up in person at least one more time before the actual interview but I'd like to get the process going before then. Also, we video chat through the WhatsApp everyday. We text through it as well however its minimal because we prefer to communicate face to face (video chat). Do we have to provide a lot of text communication?

Although only 1 visit is required before submission of the I-129F, multiple visits is good for process.....and even better for the relationship....good luck.

One time meets the requirements.  Submitting communication messages are not a petition requirement

  • 1 time within 2 years is good for submitting of I-129F petition. People I know in my community (Vietnamese) normally submit petition when there have been at least 2 visits for K1 and 3 visits for Spousal Visa. There are no set number of visits but generally the more visits, the better change of getting approved.
  • If you really want to include chat log, A A4/legal letter page per month of communication should be good enough. So if you have been chatting for 12 months: 12 pages.
