You'll feel better with some professional direction, trust in it.  Even if the first agent to whom you speak can't help directly, he or she will almost certainly be able to refer you to someone who can.  Let us know what you learn!

@Meryem467 Hi there, I am not sure if this happens to certain States, but it actually happen to me when I first arrived years ago. I was being rejected by apartments when my husband (was fiance back then) tried to rent an apartment for both of us. I have even offered to pay 12 years lease straight out and was rejected. So here's what I did, I have a relative to guarantor for me by providing her pay stubs, SSN, etc information, and to include me as an "occupant" instead of a tenant in the agreement. Hence, during the period when I was on K1 visa, our lease have 3 names on it, with my relative and my husband being the tenant but technically its only just two of us. This was actually advised by one of the apartments' manager that we have scouted for whom eventually offered to help us with this option. After getting my SSN, I immediately provided the community manager my information ASAP, and managed to remove my relative's name off the tenancy agreement after I did my adjustment of status. Hope this will help u somehow. Also, I have included in all my AOS, ROC application with letter explaining why there was a third person included in our lease during the time.

I rented at a complex before my wife got to the US, and told them that she would not have a SSN when I completed the lease forms. They just used my SSN for reference/credit check. YMMV.

What we ended up doing is looking at more apartments. We found one we liked better and the management company had no issues leasing to us with just his passport and K1 visa. If I were still struggling, this would be the method I would use next.

How did u get ur social security card? My husband applied and they denied because immigration has to verified his status. I see many people able to get social security and driver licence but is being harder for him to get his. We went to the DMV to apply they want his I-94

I went to ss office before my i-94 was expired, if i-94 is expired then you need wait until you get ead or green card to get ss number.
