Apparently, the Dallas lockbox facility have received my application on 3/8, but I haven't received my NOA1. I'm hoping to receive an electronic notification at least by the end of day. *FINGERS CROSSED*

Typical NOA1 response after receipt of the application does not come for 2-4 weeks. Most after 3 weeks.

Congratulations! Yes the wait for the NOA2 is running upwards of 8 months. Of course this is a ebb and flow process so your mileage may vary.

We sent off our packet just yesterday!

I'm so scared for a RFE since I want this to be as smooth as possible of a process but, good luck to everyone in the beginning of this tough journey

There is nothing to be afraid of if you receive an RFE. An RFE is an opportunity to correct a mistake and has no baring on the approval/or denial unless such information produces a red flag for the adjudicator then that only uncovers additional issues. Most additional issues we see is prior criminal cases and those may or may not affect the outcome of your case. Such things as forgetting to include a document or such doesn't put you in a position for a denial. So relax.

Hello everyone,

My i29f application was delivered to USCIS Lockbox on February 19th. Till this day, I had not heard anything from USCIS and the check was not cleared from my account. So I went ahead to call USCIS and spoke to an immigration officer and she updated me that my package was rejected and that it may be because I forgot to sign something on the form or I didn’t write the right check amount but she can’t tell me the exact reason. So I have to wait to receive that mail to know the reason, correct it and re-submit. She said it was mailed out on March 7th and today is the 15th and I confirmed my address to the officer and she said that is where it was mailed back to. My mind is just all over the place because I was want to get the this first step(NOA1) out of the way and then begin the waiting process for the petition to be approved

1. These visa steps can be frustrating and take unexpected amount of time. I am glad that after a month and no check being cased tipped you off to call USCIS for an update. Now you just have use your patience and wait for the package to be returned which is not uncommon. Just read over the instructions, correct the discrepancy and return per their instructions. Be sure to return with a signature required or some way of tracking to ensure that it arrived.

2. Also, many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Thanks
