I emailed NVC on February 14 to see if I was assigned a case number yet. They emailed me my case number on February 16th. It’s been four weeks since I got my NOA 2, and was it was in transit to the US Embassy by now

I think it is after it gets to the embassy. I have not gotten any mail or even an email about anything yet. Except of course the NOA1 and the NOA2.

What date did they assign your case number, and it is in transit now? (Update your timeline please)

They send a letter as an attachment to an email. An .rtf document.

Not a newbie but lost my old info years ago) I have been through this process before --all the way through naturalization-- This site has always been a great help to me.

I called and found out my case arrived and got the case # on the same day, Feb. 14th.

 

It is not in transit, still at NVC. Was given an invoice ID #, and was also told they will send an email.

 

How long should I wait to follow up again?

Keep checking CEAC. I think it will be shipped on the 5th
