I know about yours)  I was just curious if someone received a 221 for having 1040s instead of a transcript....except for the guy with the long rant))))

Not a newbie but lost my old info years ago) I have been through this process before --all the way through naturalization-- This site has always been a great help to me.

Just FYI - I e-filed my taxes on January 17th, and the 2018 tax transcript was available to download from the IRS site on January 25th (might have been available even sooner than that, but that was when I checked).

It may not happen as quickly for others, as I don't know if being an early filer worked in my favor in that regard but that was my experience. Worked out well since my fiance's interview was the 29th (not in Manila so unfortunately I can't weigh in on the specific issue regarding *requiring* the tax transcript).

They don't require the 2018 tax return, but that is not what or why he is asking ...  and yes IF he completes his 2018 tax return he can submit it at the interview.  He has reasons for asking this ...

Ohh I get it.

So how can I quickly get together my 2018 taxes/transcripts and get them to her before Sunday? HR block? CPA?

I'm not sure how long after filing your transcript becomes available, but the service you use to file wouldn't make any difference as long as they e-file. Highly doubt you could do it by Sunday unfortunately.

Not that I've seen.  This may only hit the CR visas as there is a legal difference between the 134 and 864 forms.

@EliAnon looks like you should give it a try. I recommend Credit Karma Tax personally.

The instructions for the 864 still requests 1040.  The site only mentions transcripts.  I'm guessing there will be an updated form soon.

You have a great point.  You can't.  For K-1 and the I-134, 1040 with W2s is still good.  I think this is all about the 864 (legally enforceable) form.

I changed my last post.  I don't think anything we any thing we are saying will impact the K-1 until AOS.  The I-134 still has 1040 and W2.  The change may be on the spousal and AOS side.
