I believe a woman has a right to choice, i do not however think that choice is taking 9 months to reach a decision. I believe 1-2 months to decide is reasonable, if within the first trimester its allowable, after that i disagree with allowing abortion

I am surprised no one has tried to defend this. Maybe that is a sign that even the pro abortion people think this is going too far. Or maybe that is wishful thinking and they just don't have a rational argument to defend their position. I remember abortion debates on this message board where the pro abortion crowd attempted to argue that the baby isn't a living being in the beginning of the pregnancy. That argument certainly doesn't fly at 9 months. The people who support this have no valid argument to back up their sick depraved position. If you want to get an abortion does it really take 9 months to make that decision? It's one thing to pass such a disgusting law. It is quite another to have big celebrations over its passage. I have more to say about this but I'll leave it at that for now. I just hope that rational people on both sides of the argument can agree that this goes too far.

I'm just curious...do doctors have a say in this at all? For example, if a doctor refused to carry out a late term abortion under such a law, would that be considered discrimination?

Never met one of these "pro abortion" people you speak of. There are many people who are pro choice, meaning they do not impose there own morals on someone else. They believe the decision is up to the individual. Pro life people believe the baby's right to life is more important than choice. I don't believe most pro choice people would support late term abortions.

For elective procedures doctors can generally set their own protocol on what they will and will not do. If it's a medical emergency, there could be legal repercussions for not doing the procedure or referring the patient to someone who can.

I agree with this. It's not up to me to stop someone from terminating a pregnancy. It is a dangerous road to start applying our own morals unilaterally. It's also misguided to think we are right about everything we believe is correct. However we do have to draw the line somewhere. While there may be arguments about where that line is, it has to be well before the fetus would be considered viable. Many states have laws that if a baby is killed after such gestational age that they could survive outside the womb, it is considered murder.

Yet here we are with legislation that allows it. Wonder how that happens if there is little to no support for it as you seem to be implying.

Youtube is in many ways a forum for the outliers of society. I'll take your word for it tat they are out there. I have come across enough rubbish on Youtube by accident to want to go looking for it.

No, YouTube is simply a way for many to express themselves today.  They are not necessarily.outliers, though you can choose to believe that if you will. I'd say the millenials use it very heavily, much more so than our generation ever will.  Yes, there is some scary outlandish stuff out there, but that is not the majority of videos posted.

I would say there is a difference between permitting late term abortion and "supporting it". I would say they are allowing for it to happen, however they can't make any doctor do this, as I said, unless it is a medical necessity. However I do still think the law should be written in such a way that would only permit late term abortion as a medical necessity. Without that , there will be doctors out there somewhere willing to perform it as an elective procedure.

Know many laws that get passed without support?  I don't.

I agree, most is just regular folks posting along with the occasional expert. Like many things, a few rotten apples is all it takes to spoil it.

I'm a Xennial (Gen X/Millennial cusp) and I am really, really into YouTube...haven't made videos myself (yet!) but it's pretty much my go-to source for all things media. I don't even have Netflix, for me, YouTube is my thing.

However, I can also say that @Steeleballz has a point, a lot of stuff on YouTube is super niche and there is a lot of more extreme/fringe folks out there with mini cult followings. I've talked to others in my generation (who mostly prefer Netflix) about YT and it seems that it's not as popular as it might appear. There's a sort of person who is attracted to YT, and that tends to be people into niche things who are mega passionate about those areas, for better or for worse. So, I am hoping when it comes to the creepier and more disturbing stuff out there, that it might be more of an exception than a rule.
