Withdrew k1 case and starting CR1 visa process

I filed k1 petition back in 2016 and my fiance did his interview in September 2016, everything was good but he was stuck in ordinary administrative processing for two years with no progress. We got exhausted from waiting and nothing happening so we withdrew the k1 on October 2018 and got married and now I want to file for CR1 visa but I'm afraid of that I will end up in the same loop. So please help me out. I made my long story short.

Might actually need more of the "story" to at least figure out, maybe, why the AP was so long. ;)

Past immigration? Criminal past? What country?

I mean, there is a huge chance the CR1 will end up in AP also.

K1

29.11.2013 - NoA1

06.02.2014 - NoA2

01.04.2014 - Interview. 

AoS

03.2015 - AoS started.

09.2015 - Green Card received.  

RoC

24.07.2017 - NoA1.

01.08.2018 - RoC approved.

Marriage is not a remedy for administrative processing.  It's too late for regrets......I suggest you file the I-130 and build a strong case for bona fide marriage evidence.........with a lot of time actually together.

August 7, 2022: Wife filed N-400 Online under 5 year rule.

November 10, 2022: Received "Interview is scheduled" letter.

December 12, 2022:  Received email from Dallas office informing me (spouse) to be there for combo interview.

December 14, 2022: Combo Interview for I-751 and N-400 Conducted.

January 26, 2023: Wife's Oath Ceremony completed at the Plano Event Center, Plano, Texas!!!😁

February 6, 2023: Wife's Passport Application submitted in Dallas, Texas.

March 21, 2023:   Wife's Passport Delivered!!!!

May 15, 2023 (about):  Naturalization Certificate returned from Passport agency!!

 

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

The K-1 was in Vermont.

 

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

 

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

 

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.

I see the K-1 was in Vermont so there was some criminal activity that had to be looked into closer.  Do not just file the CR-1 until you find out if the criminal record is the reason for the delay.  That can impact both types of visas.  Getting married and filing a CR-1 may not help you get approved.  We may need to know a little more.  The beneficiary is from Iraq so that may also slow things a little.

With that kind of delay I never questioned what is on this page.  I would have looked at the timeline if it said anything but Vermont.

His visit to Syria was likely one major cause for extended AP. Marriage will not resolve that. 

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

 

Now a US citizen!
