I do have an update. So, I did get a bit annoyed and I decided to contact the ombudsman on Tuesday, quite frankly I was half expecting the same response as I’ve had “your case is within normal processing times” and well, I did. However, they did say that they contacted USCIS on Wednesday and that was what they were told, on Thursday (yesterday) my case was assigned to an officer and I should wait to hear from them and today my case was approved. So within 3 days it took from nothing to approved. I should be thankful and I am but why should I have to go to such lengths. We lost a loan because my paperwork expired on Monday, I can’t renew my license, I work for a government contract and couldn’t provide adequate documentation (they extended it luckily), ROC just shouldn’t take 20+ months and we shouldn’t have to go to such lengths to get some movement going.

Besides, all said and done, I have it and I am grateful. I’ve been in this process for so long now I don’t know how to live outside of it 😂 10 years will come around quick enough again.

Congratulations! What a feeling, finally! Just in time for the furlough! 😅 Now you don't have to worry about that part at least, this particular process is over for you, the furlough won't affect that.

Finally got the “New Card is being Produced” status today for my wife.

Received Dec 7, 2018,

Fingerprints completed on Aug 6, 2019.

Case was processed in Lin Nebraska.

We were a bit nervous since I did the paperwork myself, we usually pay a preparer to do it... but that time we were really tight on money and couldn’t afford the $700 the prepared wanted to charge us. Another thing we were worried was the extension letter has expired and couldn’t get an appointment for passport stamping.

We called yesterday to get an appointment for stamp in passport and were told that they only schedule it if it is within 10 days of expiring. Is this true?

It all depends who answers the phone, honestly. We called 30 days before expiration (Aug 10th) and they scheduled an appointment for Aug 26th, but it was a process getting to that point.

The initial person who answers screens the call and will likely tell you to call later if they think it’s not an emergency, we had to talk to 3 people before someone said they’ll have an officer call. The actual officer was so nice and didn’t question anything at all about why we needed the appointment, they just made the appointment. The way USCIS works just confuses me..

We finally have an appointment for I-551 stamps. Any suggestions in what documents to take apart from I-751 notice and passport?

No action on my case since Aug 2 2019, but just did my daily check to find this -  has anyone else had this happen? Why would the case be transferred? I have not submitted an N400 application.

Case Transferred And New Office Has Jurisdiction

On August 27, 2020, your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number LINXXXXX43, was transferred to another USCIS office. That office now has jurisdiction over your case. We sent you a notice that explains why we moved your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by September 26, 2020, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

If you received an appointment letter you should bring it. You need to bring your expired greencard too, often they take the greencard from you when you receive a stamp.

Our interview has finally been scheduled for 9/24/20 in Mount Laurel, NJ, combo with N400. At that time the I751 will have been pending for over 21 months.

We were informed only my husband will be allowed into the interview for I751/N400 due to Covid guidelines, they’re not even going to interview us together so idk why this couldn’t have been approved months or years ago.

I also have my combo interview scheduled for that date. Did the notice specifically say “don’t come with your souse” or it didn’t specify..

mine did not specify to come with anyone.. I’m just checking to see if it’s the generic letter they sent..

We had made an infopass appointment and the office called to cancel it. The officer my husband spoke to said only he and a lawyer (if necessary) can come into the interview. On the appointment notice I believe it says somewhat of the same thing only lawyers would be allowed. So only he will be at the interview.

I plan to go with my husband and wait outside, just in case.

Yes, that’s what my interview notice said as well, only an attorney can come with you.. I wonder why they can’t just go ahead and approve the i751...

my souse will be outside as well and available on the phone if necessary
