So it took us 23 days after NVC received out petition on the 3rd to eventually receive a letter from them with our case number! Case is in transit to the embassy now!

How do you know that it is in transit? Did you check at ceac.state.gov to know the status?

Super. Just didn't want you to be disappointed not know that it really didn't leave and the next shipment to the embassies is not for another 2 weeks.

What would ceac website say for the status if it was still with NVC?

So they send cases once in two weeks?

Q1 NVC then "In Transit" then "Ready". Once set to ready you can move about the cabin. :D

Q2 And yes they send cases every other week. This past Wednesday the shipment went with all those that were ready from the prior two weeks.

My fiance paid the visa today and we can proceed with the appointment but only choice so far is Jan 14th for Ethiopian embassy.   She still needs to do other documents so the 2 weeks is too close.  Should I wait for another time slot??  I don't want to end up scheduling too close before even doing the medical.  Any recommendations please...

You have had a rough road during this whole process. What I like is your tenacity to not give up. For some this process is "easy" for others, they make it very difficult. Just keep plowing ahead and you will soon be rewarded.

Hi @Greenbaum well, i received an email with an attachment from NVC that my case will be sent to the consulate. That was on 26th.The status on ceac shows IN TRANSIT.Out of curiosity,i have been trying to check if the shipment already left the states but my search on DHL's tracking section is not bringing any positive feedback despite using the right format.I have tried different for other countries and its showing the movement of shipment. That was just confirm i was using the right format. My question is,since the shipment is not being displayed does it mean its still at NVC and it has not yet left for Oman's embassy?

Are you using this format?

EXP 26 DEC 2018A

26 12 2018

27 12 2018

I use this and can get results for Vietnam which currently shows packages.

I'm not entirely sure what that means. I can think of two things one is that it's still at NVC, or it has been sent electronically. Track it again at ceac. state.gov late Monday and again on Wednesday. If nothing call NVC with an inquiry.
