I met a Russian lady one year ago today in Odessa.  She is from Russia and we fell in love.  I file for the US petition in January 2018.  We got our approval in early September.

I received an official letter saying all our information would be forwarded to the Moscow embassy.  Now we have waited 2 weeks to get an appointment.  The letter says check the website daily.

The site says the same thing as the Call Center - NO APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE.  I understand the staff is limited at the American Embassy due to "political reasons", but this is frustrating.

I will call the embassy and see if I can get an answer.   I would like to know if we have to wait weeks or months.    Does anyone have any idea?

Try to check the appointments late evening or early morning ( 4 or 5 am)

What visa did you apply for? Keep in mind that you only got approved for the application and not the visa itself.

Some embassies are waiting more than a month

but continue to check daily as you want to be the first to grab an open spot

I would even be checking a couple of times a day

be ready an grab any opportunity as soon our US holidays start and many take end of the year vacations (or loose them)

Seems like its K1, because they have to book appointment by themselves. Wives on CR1/IR1 get they dates from Embassy. Moscow is the only Embassy in Russia that gives immigrant visas so they are pretty slammed but I heard some cases were transferred to Kiev (Ukraine) and they have a lot of slots available there. If you consider doing that, you could contact Moscow embassy and ask them about such possibility and make sure they send case to Kiev.

It is a K-1 Visa, and I already paid for it.  We have all our final docs completed, and she checks daily.  I called the call center once and will try to call the embassy.   I don't understand this hit or miss process.   Seems to me that there should be a waiting list for those who are ready since appointments are hard to book.

The process is set up to run smoothly for the Embassy and not for the petionener. It's something everyone of us have or is dealing with. I suggest keeping calm and follow the suggestions that others have posted here. They are your best option right now. You have it easy as I can tell you horror stories from times past that others had to deal with and given a choice those folks would rather be in your shoes. 😉

I'd say it's a few months. 2 weeks is nothing, we waited almost 8. Given current situation in Russia, it may take even longer.
