Well put yourself in her shoes. It's 3 pm and she has gotten phones calls since 9 am with who knows what questions and she is repeating the same script over and over. So maybe she just had a bad day. No reason to skewer her.

It's her job though. Answering calls is a customer service role. She might have had no information but adhering to professionalism is the basic requirement.

Nonetheless, my partner is calling back and asking for Tier 2 again, and this time asking for a badge number (the other lady wouldn't give it), and hoping to complain and also find out if the July estimate she gave us is anywhere near correct.

Although our plans were flexible (because of the nature of how this works), this more than screws it up.

I have been in her shoes, lol. Never do you treat someone who is paying your salary that way.

I didn't say nor did I insinuate that her conduct was OK. Just wanted to get that out there.

Good news!

I guess when your background is completed should take couple of days until you hear from them....

Quick stats roundup.

September currently is operating at 63% complete (around 7% less than most prior months) with 117/185 approvals.

October:

  • October currently has 79/191 approvals, this is 41% complete.
  • Those with an NOA 1 after the 16th are 36% approved (28/77).
  • Those with an NOA 1 of the 16th or prior, 51/114,  so 45% complete.

This gap is narrowing, so it could be that they are working towards the middle of the month from both ends now, but who really knows?

November already has 7/160 (4%) approvals.

As always, be sure to update your timelines when you receive anything, even if it's an RFE.

Thank you @brandonflude1 ! I'm sure everyone can agree that your statistics are so helpful and very much appreciated! It was very quiet on here yesterday, hoping that it was just a quiet day because officers were catching up from the weekend and not a sign of the approval rate slowing down! I've got everything crossed that the rest of us October filers will hear soon!

Seems to me that some workers are in November already and some are still in July..

Unfortunately, most likely those of us who are waiting are with those workers who are slacking behind

Or maybe the applicant has some dark secret that the background check has exposed and there is further investigation needed hence why the delay.
