Hello everyone. My NOA1 is January 25th (old site) and January 30th (new site). I put in an online inquiry about why my case is over processing time. Below is the answer I received back. What should my next step be? Some are telling me to sit and wait and some are telling me I can contact my Senor or Congress or ombudsman in an attempt to speed up my case. What should it be? And if I do contact someone, which one do you guys think is the best option to contact? Please and Thank you.

Once it has been 225 days from the new site, you can contact your congressman to place an inquiry.

Sometimes that helps.

But really, if it is hung up in background checks or just random hold ups, there's not much you can do.

They're in Lewisville. I can confidently say that none of our congressmen will intervene. I tried the same with our case.

Hi, OP. Try to be patient. You're just a little bit over your estimated time, but that can be incredibly normal for the VJ estimate. Your case will hopefully be processed any day now.

Like others have said there isn't much you can do at this point to move the needle. Your case closely mirrors hundreds of others, if not thousands. Right now that's the "facts of life" for USCIS.

Let me help ease your mind with this little tool. Use the tools here in VJ to answer "when I am going to get etc. etc." question. Near your picture there is a link for your timeline. Select it and once you're on the next page near your picture  you will see "follow similar timelines" and it will populate 12 other couples who are near your dates. Scroll down and you will see a "spreadsheet" style page showing all the variables for measurement for when others from your Embassy are getting the same notice of approval or action.  Try it. It really works!

For us, it was 225 days from NOA1 to Interview.  Philippines.  It is a long and activating wait for sure and not much you can do but wait it out.  In a world of instant information, people tend to cringe at the time it takes to process anything.

Congress makes the immigration laws but they are not in charge of immigration

immigration is self supporting by our fees and not by Federal budget

congressman will ask Homeland security about you inquiry (after you make a senator request google your name and see this)

but with over 6,000,000 applicaitons a year it is impossible to get action

my Senator made inquires for me but had no influence and told me that when i met with his office staff
