okay. What should I tell the Canadian visa officer? Should I show him the extension letter and the approval letter and tell him that my case is approved but I haven't received my new card?

Will I get denied entry into Canada, If he sees in the approval letter that "says do not travel without your new card"?

Are you not Canadian? If not, and you need a GC to enter Canada, then show him/her the extension letter and your GC. No reason to show him/her the approval letter. That would just complicate things.

If you're Canadian, I don't know why you'd have to provide any of that to a Canadian immigration officer.

I have Indian citizenship.

But is the extension letter still valid? My understanding is that the extension letter is valid until they make a decision on the case which they have now.

You need the new GC you cannot travel on the extension letter and expired CG after you get notice of the new card being approved.

It is one thing to be already out of the country when you get the approval and re enter using those documents and another to be inside the US and leave after the approval. They check the dates of you leaving and the approval dates.  Yes they will check and see your dates.

Unless it's an emergency, I would wait until you get your new GC. You are almost there. You should get it within the next 2 weeks or so.

I agree with Ontarkie. I would not leave the US. CBP can see exactly when your case was approved. If you show them the approval letter that says, "Do not travel until you receive the new GC", CBP is going to ask you, "Why did you not follow USCIS' instructions when they are very plainly written on this letter?".

I have an Indian passport but I resided in Canada for a while and moved (fiance visa) from there to the US. I am not sure where to change the country info but thanks for your help!
