It has always been a consideration.  This is, in no way, a travel ban......this policy enforces existing law......which protects the US taxpayer as well as the new immigrant.  There is no reason the US taxpayer should bear the burden of new immigrant's health care.

Make sure the new immigrant is covered by a health care plan within 30 days of arrival.

But it seems like they're gonna try to block people from entering before if they can't show they can afford health care. The requirements for financial support are 125 percent of poverty level...with this proclamation it will maybe go up a lot because I assume the immigrant can't use any aca tax credits

Maybe the 125% is too low.......this proclamation ensures both the taxpayer and the new immigrant are protected from uninsured medical costs........win-win.

Hi guys I need help!!!!

i am so worried.

my husband sent his new medical and police clearance two weeks ago since the embassy asked for it.

I just checked his case online and it says his case is expiring soon because we haven’t applied for his visa? We have been in administration processing for over a year due to the travel ban. E33BFEE2-836C-4432-895B-80178662D030.thumb.jpeg.75400c466b58d9bb85a9a911761c4518.jpeg

This is an screenshot of his case. I already called the embassy and emailed them but they don’t answer me anything.

Thank you!! My husband called. They said we need to update the D-260 ASAP. We need to include a new affidavit. Any idea if we have to pay the fees for the new affidavit/sponsor?

for me they called and set new appointment for 2interview to bring new medical exam new police cert and valid passport. no new affidavit of support were requested. pls if someone here has gone throw this share his or her experience of what is next and how long is the average waiting time for the visa to be issued. because after all this complication it seems like tom&Jary game
