Do you have any theories as to what the problem may be?

I honestly do not know, I've searched everywhere for an answer. all say that the only one who can approve or deny the visa is the consular officer. and whatever decision he makes, he makes you known in the interview ... that day everything was great. We have reviewed the CEAC as nonimmigrant and says no status and immigrant visa says refused and ready .

There is always a chance the refusal is a mistake but am asking in case there is a reason for a denial. Difference in age? Something not declared? Not enough relationship evidence? I realize they said you were approved but if the visa was denied something must have come up after. Did the applicant have any other K-1 applications with other spouses? Border denials?

they canceled my visa last year for crossing the border with him, I live 2 hours from the border so it is common to go shopping ... but in this case I was visiting after he was a few days in Mexico . On the day of the interview he asked me what  I had gone through and I explained what I believed and he told me that the cbp normally cancel the visa because they thought  it is something illegal, but he saw in my fiancé's records that he came every 2 weeks to Mexico to visit me and we had hundreds of photos together, trips with family, etc.

You can get refused after saying you were approved at the interview. They review paperwork and find something to refuse. Give it 2-3 weeks and see if you receive your passport back in the mail and with it would be a letter explaining why it was refused. You can also try to get in touch with the embassy and see if you can get any information. Explain that you were given a paper saying approved but now your status says refused and see what they say. Unfortunately there’s no way of knowing until you get that passport back. And if you do get a denial, don’t waste your time trying to appeal. K1s can’t be appealed. So just go the spousal visa route.

Hello isabella
If I may give you a suggestion:
Did you go wrong by clicking on the items: Immigrant and Non-Immigrant?
Try: NON-IMMIGRANT

This... also check your case number too. I made the same mistake.

A K-1 will only appear in CEAC under immigrant visa (despite technically being non-immigrant). Even when it gets transferred to non-immigrant processing (shortly before being issued), it remains listed under the immigrant visa section.

Hmmmm it says immigrant visa refused but K1 is non immigrant. K1s are list as immigrant on ceac about 90% of the way until after interview it changes to non immigrant with a AP status. So maybe it’s a Something like the immigrant visa status says refused because it will then change to non immigrant. You’d have to wait for your passport in the mail to be sure but maybe it’s not a total loss just yet. Keep checking ceac every day until then.
