In CA .. our electric company requires a ss#.  Our cell phone company, AT&T, required SS# for new service.   Bank of America requested a SS# when opening a new account.  Direct-TV required a social security # for new service.  My wife's employer required her to complete a W-4 and I-9 tax form each requesting her social security #.   COULD we have argued in each scenario and demanded to know what options were available without a ss#?   Sure - but we decided to get a soc sec card and be prepared for life.    I guess we're odd that way.

A social security number is used for working and collecting benefits it doesn’t prepare you for life. Good luck with that.

Doesn't left down corner contain a name DS-3025?? Same to you @Zjazzy ?

DS-3025 is a vaccination record filled by panel physician, as long as your med exam is not older then a year when you apply for AOS copy of DS-3025 is enough

I emailed the clinic and asked for a copy of that DS-3025. Cross fingers they will send me a copy and it would be enough as you said.

Your interview took 253 days from the NOA1 date.   Ours took 142 days.  In the 111 day difference of time ..  we got married, obtained SS card,  obtained CA drivers permit,  and applied to the CA Board of Nursing.  Within 180 days of our AOS/EAD submission we received her work permit and BON approval.   Today my wife is making six-figures as a surgical nurse ... while I'm betting you're still waiting on a work permit?   Being Prepared means knowing what hurdles are coming and taking actions before they arrive. But ignoring them and dealing with the issues when they pop up might work too.  Good luck with that.

The SSN should only take a couple weeks at most.  I guess the holiday might have caused some delays or perhaps lost in the mail?   We waited to file the AOS until after we received the SSN - as we wanted to fill out the AOS with all the information.   Before sending the AOS -- I would go to the local Social Security Office just to see if the SSN is available.  Take your identifying documents for your fiance (intl passport, marriage certificate, etc).   If you submit the AOS before getting the SSN# ... honestly I don't know what the process would be to send in the SSN# or if there would be a delay.  Maybe another VisaJourney member might know?   Best of luck in your process!

AOS can be filed without an SSN just fine. No issue. Many people who file for AOS arern't even eligible for an SSN.

13.a: No. Until they actually issue one, this is correct. No need to send an update if/when one comes in.

13.b: Blank or N/A is fine

14 + 15: Your choice if you want them to do it. Personally I would say no....if yo get one beforehand, great. If not, you can get one with the EAD on your own.

If you get a card and there are no changes needed at the time of getting an EAD, there's no need or basis for a new card to be issued.

I do suggest getting a new card once getting your green card, though. That card will not have the DHS authorization requirement text on it...making it useful for I-9s along with an appropriate ID (instead of needing to show the actual green card).

This question is so confusing because it's irrelevant to K1 applicants.  they should ask if you applied for SSN, and then if you received the SSN.  I feel safer saying yes to 13a, because i know it's on the way, i dont want them to accidently issue me a 2nd SSN, is that even possible?

You have applied for an SSN at this point. You haven't been issued one yet.

Past versions of the form didn't have those questions...just asked for the SSN. You had no option to apply for an SSN concurrently. So it's still a fairly new process to apply for one via I-765 paperwork.

Is it possible to have 2 SSNs issued? Sure..mistakes happen. But it would be a mistake, which means getting it corrected later. Most likely they would apply on your behalf, the SSA would see you already have one, and refuse to issue a new one (no harm, no foul).
