That’s super weird but let’s remember there’s a government shutdown, so maybe that’s why. Look at my cases’ timeline, it went straight to card mailed from approved 🤔

@Maria & Lester if you filed both at the same time....you should get a combo card that says also good for advance parole on the bottom of the card. You should get your EAD by Thursday or Friday max. Good luck.

Can someone tell me how long from getting the notification from USCIS that the interview (I-485) is scheduled to actually getting the letter in the mail takes? I know the government shutdown does not affect USCIS directly since it is paid by the fees for immigration, but with the New Years coming on Tuesday....will they send out mail this Monday 31?

Yaaaaaaas 💪🏽 Congratulations 🎉

and yes, now you can, not for more than like 2-3 weeks at a time because of the interview still being pending!! Also they sent you a letter with it that you’re supposed to save in case of needing to renew 🎉 let the job hunt begin!!

Based on your location your wait time is approximately this, counting from your filing date, so deduct it from your wait time! Good luck 🍀happy new year  🥳  hopefully this new year brings us our green cards already lol

Grant me the serenity to get through this week. It will be 7 months from EAD receipt date on Thursday. I am not looking forward to calling again. The new congressman will be in office on the 3rd. Hopefully I can get a response to my plea to him even though he just started. Fingers crossed. I will message you in the next few days @Mellamanlola if that's okay.

Hi guys! I hope everyone's year is starting out great!

So a new update on our case: a week ago I've been notified that my interview has been scheduled!!! On January 22nd. I was so ecstatic at work when I read my update during my lunch break, I could not believe it! We filed on June 6th 2018 and on December 21st we got our interview scheduled ( it was waiting to be scheduled since August 7th). The EAD came at the beginning of November.

I do have ONE big concern though: my husband is being deployed on January 11th. So great. I'll have to go by myself to the interview. Haven't called USCIS yet though, I just read a little online that it is allowed to go alone under those circumstances. Does anyone here have any experience with a military spouse that was deployed while your AOS interview?

Anyway, I'm excited to finally be able to go back home without ANY reservations. Wish you all a great new year and just hang in there. I live in West Texas, where it's like the longest wait ever, yet somehow we managed to swim through a sea of applications. You will too.

February 15, 2019. Our notice came exactly 7 days after the status changed online. A little weird thing, was the way they addressed the letter

Anja Doe <------- my wife (beneficiary)

c/o Raymund Doe <------ my wife's father, who is deceased since 2016 🤔

1234 Main Rd.

Apt. 234

Anywhere, AL 32005

I read here in VJ that this is a common thing the way they address it to the beneficiary. Other pieces of mail always had my name and my wife's name on it.  Hope this is something that future VJ members might see or not see. No need to freak out. By some act of GOD literally....that is my deceased wife's fathers birthday!!!
