I heard it was like a bone to stay there

My wife got mad at me one time because I paid for us to stay there one night on valentines day. It was about $125 night if i remember correctly because I want a room with a view of Davao.

She pretty much said you could have given me that money to go buy something at Abreza mall.

The hotel we usually stay in is across from Victoria mall, cheap and clean. I think we usuall pay around 1600 pesos a night.

For me I don't want to pay US prices for a hotel in Philippines, it takes the fun out of it for me.

Give me hotel with air con, that is clean, with a large bed and I am good.

Just when you think you have TDS eradicate,  a new case shows up.

Back to the OP, if the child is included as a K-2, they will have to interview.  It would be a good idea to at least get introduced to each other before the interview.  The questions for the kids are generally simple like "What do you call your future step-father?", "Do you like him?" "Are you looking forward to living in the States?".  I was assume that if the CO gets negative vibes from the kid it will make the other questions to the mother a little more pointed.  I hope it is just a careful pinay.  They certainly do care for their partners more than most cultures.  I have always enjoyed my trips to Davao (yes, I stayed at Marco Polo) but I have learned to love Metro Manila.  I know there are places to avoid like any other city but I find Manila to be a bit friendlier than Davao.  I do love the taxis in Davao though.

what part of the Philippines is she from? My wife is from Zamboanga Del Norte in Mindanao which is on the caution list. I feel safe there, safer than in NYC, Chicago or any other major US City, just be sensible, act quietly, don't flash cash, be respectful, you may be an oddity in the provinces but that's it.

On the kid front, inability to get along with the kid or tolerate his behavior will have a dramatic effect on your relationship with your fiancé/spouse, better to let that genie out of the bottle sooner than later

I agree with the rest, something appears "Not Right"

My fiance is from Salug, Zamboanga Del Norte in Mindanao. It was fine. Just don't be stupid when you are there. I will say that the whole barangay will know you are there within 15 minutes of your arrival))) I can't imagine marrying someone and not meeting their family and seeing where they are from...if at all possible.

Finally done...

My wife is her neighbor sort of, Salug is a barangay of Sindangan, her family is from Damusag another small barangay of Sindangan. If you wish to go to the beach there ate several small beach resorts in Damusag/Tigbao. One, Coco Grove is owned by an American from Minnesota and his Pinay wife, small friendly and Englisg and Bisaya both work cheap and fun
