Hi Guys,

Any good news or update form your side?
I'm also American Syrian and waiting for the interview for my Syrian Wife in a couple of months. kinda worried and confused.
Please update us if you have any progress

Thank you.

Hi,

nothing new yet. we did out interview on the 24th of June and they placed my wife's case on administrative processing (waiver application). We do not know how long it will take :(

does your wife live in Syria? or outside Syria? if she resides outside Syria, she has a big chance of getting the visa on the spot!

Did you email them the answers to the questions?

I recommend checking the status of your case via : https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx and make sure it says: Administrative processing.

no word from them yet and I think we are placed in hibernation :(

I agree with you. We need to do something to attract the media's attention.

Hey, guys. Nothing new for my husband either. It's been almost 5 months since his interview...

I just checked the status of my husband's case and the Last Updated Date was changed from February 21st to July 10th. I think that's good news? No idea.

Muhammadsheikhale: I've heard that visas are processed faster and granted more for women so that may help your situation. I know of a person on Visa Journey who said that his friend's wife recently got her visa 3 or 4 months after her interview.

Wish you all good luck and please keep updating us on your case.

Its definitely a good sign. I have heard of multiple cases who recently cleared waivers. Their case status constantly changed a few times right before they got waiver notice. Have you contacted your senator? That definitely seems to make a difference.

The thing is, I realized that the new updated date is the date the senator's lawyer contacted the embassy. Kind of bummed because I thought they updated it for other reasons.

I have contacted my senator and his lawyer asks for updates for us but every time we get the same answer: that there's nothing new on his case and that they'll contact us once there's progress.

SalHasl, that's great news about the waivers that were granted! Could you tell me how long they waited after their interview? We're considering moving to be with my husband because we're worried his visa will take too long so any information you can give me could help.

There are 2 that i know of. 1 was in AP for 22 months and then in waiver review for 3 months. Male beneficiary. The other one was in waiver review for 3 months. female beneficiary.

AP is the big wild card here - no one knows how long it can take. Waivers seem to be taking between 3 and 6 months.

Wait, is AP different than the waiver review or are they both conducted at the same time? Are you counting from the day of the interview?

Because when the counselor told him that they'll be doing the AP and that he may be eligible for a waiver, I assumed the waiver processwas the same as AP.

Nah. No one gets a waiver on the spot.

Part of same process for waiver cases.
