Expedite K-1 process

Hi Community,

Can someone pls advise if its possible to expedite k1 visa process at any stage?
Or such possibility does not even exist?

Would depend on your reason for the expedited request, and if that reason fits USCIS's criteria:

 

USCIS may expedite a petition or application if it meets one or more of the following criteria:

• Severe financial loss to company or person;
• Emergency situation;
• Humanitarian reasons;
• Nonprofit organization whose request is in furtherance of the cultural and social interests of the United States;
• Department of Defense or national interest situation (These particular expedite requests must come from an official U.S. government entity and state that delay will be detrimental to the government.);
• USCIS error; or
• Compelling interest of USCIS.

For NVC or the embassy, you would contact them (although NVC processing is normally a matter of days for an I-129F).

 

On what basis are you trying to expedite?

When we filed our K1 visa, our home country had faced a devastating natural disaster. We wrote a simple, one page letter asking for expedite based on humanitarian grounds - and it was approved faster than normal processing times.

 

I imagine if you are from one of the eastern provinces of Ukraine with "little green men", you might as well write a simple letter asking for help. You have nothing to lose.

I see, okay thanks. But I am not from Eastern Ukraine full of Russian soldiers and war....

Perhaps if you give the reason(s) here, we can help you determine whether you'd have a shot at getting the expedite approved.

I already see that I do not meet expedite requirements...just waiting time is too long now.

Tons of people are waiting to be approved....everything in immigration takes time, all you can do is try to not drive yourself crazy during the process.

The waiting is tough......twice daily video chats helped us get through the year separation.
