Cr1 visa interview questions

Ok would my fiancé have to go to the office in her country to do her interviews or would it be possible for her to do them here while visiting on an esta? Also if she has to be there approximately how much notice does she get for the interviews?

Visa interview is only conducted by the embassy in your fiancee's home country or country of residence, never in the US.

The London embassy? I got 6 weeks notice for mine. 

 

The whole point of a visa is to grant permission to enter the country. That's why the interviews are held overseas. There are no US embassies in the USA. 

 

She can continue to visit throughout the process. 

 

Edited- I thought the question was about the K-1 interview which applicants schedule themselves. CR-1 interviews for London are scheduled by the NVC.

Keep in mind ESTA is for visiting the US, not living here. While it's certainly fine for the spouse to visit the US during the cr1 process ultimately it's up to the border patrol officer to determine their length of stay. Should they try using it too often or overstay, they run risk of losing it. Generally it's recommended they keep strong ties to their home country (proof of their employment, lease, etc) to show CBP why they won't overstay so they won't be denied entry. 

 

Seeing as how you haven't gotten married yet, worrying about how much time the spouse will have to return home before interview kind of makes it sound as if they will be unofficially "living" here through the process. Be careful!
