I've read of a few people calling. Is there any value or risk in calling just to see where things stand?

I am not sure, but it sounds like it could potentially slow things down.....we don't want that!!

I guess that depends on if tier 2 agents are the ones processing the cases? Or is there a tier 3? Haha.

Why do you think it would slow things down?

do you think if we just wanted to know if the background check is clear and up for review it would be worth the call?

Imagine if 2000+ applicants flood the phone lines each month.....what good does knowing a background check is cleared if you haven't received a NOA2? The call to check won't speed up the NOA2....

Its doesnt speed it up but at least you know that a background check wont slow it down either . Theres plp that are still pending background check from nov - dec ect . So its good to know that’s not my case . We are just trying to see where we stand in this process.

This still depends on who actually handles these calls. If they aren't the same as the ones that process the application, then it's just clogging up the phone system. Do we know for sure of this one way or another?

Its amazing that you got the information you wanted! At least you know they have touched on your case and you won't be stuck in the background check. My fiancé is going to call next week :)

Awesome, trust me I get it. We're all on that same "need to know basis". My fiance and my approach is just to wait the standard 5-7 months for an approval. But from the start we agreed we wouldn't let the anxiety get the best of us. Now I'm not saying that has to be everyone's approach. But, we have faith in the process. They're understaffed and soon enough March cases will start getting approved (whether we know if we're through the background check or not).

But I guess we're looking at it from a standpoint of being sympathetic to all the cases before ours waiting to be approved. I personal don't feel a call will help unless you've hit that 210 day mark. That warrants a call to see what the hold up is. But on average 5-7 months is the normal processing time....Just our opinion and not trying to force it on anyone.

Advice: KEEP BUSY!!

I honestly don't think calling Tier 2 is a problem. So many February filers have called and got information on their cases. Of course some weren't so lucky and got the generic answer  "you are within normal processing times". However, It's a good way to get a quicker update on your case, since this month people get more and more silent approvals.

Totally get it. 😊

But thinking about it logically, "whomever you speak with on the phone (Tier 1/2) chances are they are not the actual person holding your case in front of them. They could just be telling you what you want to hear to get you off the call. " For us avoiding the added anxiety has been working. Our expectations is 5-7 months. If it comes before that...awesome.

We look forward to SEPT and to EVERYONE getting their NOA 2 soon..... On Deck!!!

Advice: KEEP BUSY!!
