If they are outside the US then you only do the I-130 to start the process so they can apply for a visa abroad.

The I-485 only applies for people inside the US right now.

Do you earn enough to sponsor them, don’t forget to include those you have already sponsored in the calculation of how much you need to earn. 

 

If you don’t then you would need a sponsor.

I have 2 stepchildren living out of the country and I am US citizen. I want to file for them to come to the US. I live in Maryland. 

My questions are? 

- what exactly do I need to send with for 130? 

- Do I have to send passport photos  of me and for them? 

- where I should send the forms too? 

- how long usually process takes? 

- Do they accept checks or money orders only? 

- I sponsored their father last year. So to sponsor the kids this year. which household income should I look for in poverty guide? 3 or 4? 

- when they will ask about sponsorship because I'm looking for someone to co sponsor one of them? 

Please help me and reply all questions if you can.

Basically it is the same as sponsoring your Husband, is the mother in agreement?
